AFMS PG Medical Admission 2019 - The counselling conducting body for AFMS PG Medical 2019 admission is Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS). The process of admission to AFMS PG Medical courses has begun on March 15, 2019. The authority has issued a notice specifying that the candidates who did not mention their priority field due to not choosing the parents' defence background, will have to re-register themselves by resetting their earlier registration and fill the priority accordingly. The priority list can be checked in the article below. Candidates need to register themselves online till March 24, 2019. The candidates who will qualify NEET PG exam will be considered for the counselling process. To participate in AFMS PG medical 2019 admission process, candidates will be required to register with DGHS. The AFMS PG medical admission process will be both online and offline. Only those candidates who will register with DGHS will be considered for the further admission process of AFMS PG medical. By registering for AFMS PG medical 2019 candidates will be applying for admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses offered by eight AFMS institutes. The admission to AFMS PG medical courses will be solely taken on the basis of NEET PG 2019 score and the medical fitness test conducted by the DGAFMS. NEET PG result 2019 has been declared on January 31, post which the DGHS will start the registration process for the AFMS PG medical counselling. The seats available for AFMS PG medical courses will be divided for different priorities and the counselling will also be conducted priority-wise. AFMS PG Medical Application Form 2019

The registration process for AFMS PG medical admission 2019 has been made available on March 15, 2019. AFMS PG medical application form is the registration process of centralised counselling. The counselling for 15% All India Quota, Central & Deemed Universities and AFMS Institution will be conducted simultaneously. Candidates will be required to register with DGHS. The last date to submit the AFMS PG medical 2019 application form will be March 24. Only those candidates who will register for the counselling process will be considered eligible. The registration process for AFMS PG medical is completely online. After successful registration, candidates need to take a printout of the registration slip which is one of the mandatory document required at the time of counselling. AFMS PG medical 2019 application fee is INR 1000.


AFMS PG Medical Admission - Priority/Category for Admission

The seats available for AFMS PG medical 2019 admission are divided among different priorities. It must be noted that the counselling process for candidates belonging to different priorities will be different. AFMS PG medical eligibility criteria might also vary from category to category-

  • Priority I- The officers of the AFMS who are currently serving.

  • Priority II- Foreign candidates sponsored by the Government of India. Candidates will be accepted on approval of DGAFMS/Ministry of Defence/Ministry of External Affairs.

  • Priority III- The medical officers who are sponsored by Paramilitary Forces or different organisation of Government of India. For these candidates, the sponsorship certificate mentioning the subjects for sponsorship by the sponsoring authority is required to be considered for counselling.

  • Priority IV- The officers who are ex-servicemen of AFMS and have completed their contractual service. These candidates can only apply under this category if they have completed their service on or after May 1, 2016, or before April 30, 2019. The officers who resigned/dismissed/removed from the services or did not complete are not eligible for this category.

  • Priority V- Civilian doctors who are ready to serve AFMS for five years after the completion of the course considering they fulfil the other eligibility criteria. These doctors will sign the bond of INR 29,00,000 to Government of India for AFMS PG medical admission 2019.


AFMS PG Medical Eligibility Criteria 2019

  • Candidates applying for AFMS PG medical admission must be Indian citizen except for candidates falling under Priority II category.

  • The age criteria apply to Priority V i.e. civilian candidates. These candidates must not be more than 35 years of age as on April 30, 2019.

  • Candidates must possess an MBBS degree from a recognised institution.

  • It is mandatory to be registered with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council as the permanent/provisional registration certificate will be required at the time of admission.

  • Candidates belonging to the state of Jammu and Kashmir or who have completed their undergraduate degree from the state are also eligible to apply for the course.

  • Since admission will be taken on basis of NEET PG 2019 score, it is mandatory for candidates to qualify the said exam failing candidates will be deemed ineligible for AFMS PG medical admission. Candidates can check below the minimum required percentile to qualify NEET PG 2019-

AFMS PG Medical Merit List 2019

Candidates who will register for AFMS PG medical admission 2019 will be included in the merit list. The inclusion in the AFMS PG medical 2019 merit list confirms that a candidate is eligible for the counselling process. The merit list will be released on March 27, 2019. AFMS PG medical merit list will be released in online mode only. The merit rank of the candidates will be revealed through the AFMS PG medical 2019 merit list. Candidates will be called for the counselling as per the merit rank mentioned in the AFMS PG medical merit list 2019. There will be a total five merit list released by DGAFMS which implies there will be one merit list for each priority. The counselling notice will be attached with each AFMS PG medical merit list containing the details of the counselling like date and venue.

AFMS PG Medical Counselling 2019

The counselling for AFMS PG medical admission 2019 will start tentatively in the last week of March 2019. The mode of conduction of the counselling will be only offline which implies candidates will be asked to report to the counselling venue at the allotted date and time. Only those candidates who are included in the merit list are eligible to participate in the counselling process. AFMS PG medical admission will be taken on the basis of merit and preference.
