How to prepare for AIIMS MBBS 2019

To prepare for an exam, the next step after knowing what to study is how to study. Learning effectively becomes very important when you are preparing for an exam for months. For this, aspirants must follow a routine and plan their syllabus accordingly in order to prepare for AIIMS MBBS exam. Here we have compiled a list of how to prepare for AIIMS MBBS 2019 key points which will lay the groundwork for aspirants-

  • Create a timetable: Prepare a timetable according to which you can give time to each section for AIIMS MBBS preparation. Try to make a realistic timetable which brings the school, self-study and coaching schedule in sync and follow it religiously. Take short breaks after each session as long session would just result in cramming the concepts and not understanding them.

  • Know your syllabus: This is not the time when you want to study everything that comes in the way. One should know what to study and what not to study. For AIIMS MBBS, it is more important to be thorough with each and every topic that you cover as expert Brajesh Maheshwari, Director of Allen Careers Institute says, “Students who prepare through conceptual study do not face many problems and find questions to be relatively easy.”

  • Smart Work vs Hard Work: When it comes to entrances like AIIMS MBBS, both hard work and smart work becomes essential. It does not matter the number of hours that one is spending in front of the books but the amount of attention that you are paying to a concept counts. Most importantly, a candidate gets a few seconds over a minute for one question. In sections like Physics and Chemistry, the calculations are lengthy and time taking one must learn the shortcuts to solve the questions.

  • Choosing the right source: This is one important aspect of AIIMS MBBS 2019 preparation journey. Choosing the right study material becomes relevant to hone your preparation strategy for AIIMS MBBS 2019.

This will also be helpful in preparing an exam day strategy in terms of how much time should be given to each section.

  • Maintain a healthy diet: AIIMS MBBS 2019 preparation time can be really exhaustive at times more so when aspirants skip meals just to keep studying for long hours. One thing should be kept in mind that only if the body is healthy, the mind can work properly. Drink a lot of water and get a proper diet to stay stress-free.

Therefore, to prepare for AIIMS MBBS 2019, candidates must take a note that their fundamentals are very clear.

On tackling weak and strong areas AIR 9 Somal Agarwal says, “I did not worry too much about my strong areas. The areas I was strong in I would sometimes revise them and sometimes just let it be. As for my weak areas, I made sure to work extra hard on them. To do this, I maintained a separate register for the same. I made a list of the topics which were my weak areas and made a small summary of each. I would go through each of them regularly. As time went by, they became my strong areas too.”

For AIR 2 Ramneek Kaur Mahal, it was all about getting the stronghold on NCERT books and solving mock tests while for AIR 4 Manraj Singh Sra studying 8-10 hours was a must. In his interview with Careers360 Manraj said, “Preparation cannot be considered complete if one does not spend ample time indulging in self-study.” He further added, “The best part of my preparation was solving past years’ IIT papers; it helped me smoothly secure the obtained scores. Last few months, I closely followed the newspaper to keep myself updated.”
