In AIPGMEE 2014, MD (Radio-Diagnosis) emerged as the most popular choice among the top 100 rank holders. According to the counselling committee, Medical Counseling Committee (MCC), 45 candidates among the top 100 opted for MD (Radio-Diagnosis) as their preference. MCC conducts counselling for all India 50% quota MD/MS/Diploma seats which excludes colleges located in Jammu & Kashmir and erstwhile Andhra Pradesh.

MD- General Medicine and MD- Paediatrics emerged as the second and third favourite with 27 and 10 candidates respectively opting for the two subjects.

AIPGMEE 2014 Cut off Score for MD Programmes:

The cut off marks of MD (Radio-Diagnosis) for unreserved category in 2014 was 635, while for the ST category the cut off was 15642.

As per AIPGMEE 2014 first round allotment, out of 100 top rankers, as many as 32 either skipped the online counseling or could not get their subject of choice.

 

A total of 5,452 seats were allotted during the first round of counseling process. Dr Bipin Batra, Executive Director of NBE, shared that out of 44,442 candidates who had qualified AIPGMEE 2014, as many as 30,495 candidates qualified to participate in online counseling for All India 50% quota seats based on cut-off for different categories of candidates.

 

AIPGMEE 2014 Cut off Score for Master of Surgery (MS) Programmes:

In AIPGMEE 2014, General Surgery emerged as the popular branch among the qualified candidates under Master of Surgery (MS) Program.In addition to this, the other preferred branches in Master of Surgery are Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, Anatomy and ENT.

AIPGMEE 2014 Cut off Score for MS Programmes:

MS (Surgery) emerged as the most favored Post Graduate medical branch in AIPGMEE 2014. The cut off marks of Surgery for unreserved category was 3,430 and for OBC 3,235.

Branch-Wise number of vacant Seats in Different Medical Colleges:

Though most of the PG seats had been filled through AIPGMEE 2014 counselling, many seats were still vacant. The maximum numbers of seats were vacant in M.D. Physiology followed by M.D. Preventive & Social Medicine, M.D. Microbiology etc. Candidates can refer to the graph given below for comprehensive information on vacant seats in different PG courses at various medical colleges of India.

Branch Wise Vacant Seats in Top Medical Colleges

 

Even after AIPGMEE 2014 extended round of counselling, one of the most sought after medical colleges in India, Maulana Azad Medical College had 5 unfilled seats in various PG courses. Similarly, Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi has 5 seats vacant while Madras Medical College, Chennai has 21 seats.

A total of 845 out of 6000 (approx) seats were unfilled after 3rd extended round AIPGMEE 2014 counseling for 50% quota of MD/MS/PG Diploma courses offered at Government Medical Colleges /Institutions except states of Andhra Pradesh and J&K. In AIPGMEE 2014, B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad has 29 unoccupied PG seats the highest among medical colleges.

After the AIPGMEE 2014 counselling, Maharashtra has the maximum number of returned seats. According to officials, a total of 140 seats had been returned to Maharashtra followed by Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Dr. D.Y.Patil Vidyapeeth

Vinayaka Missions Medical College

VMKV Medical College

Meenakshi Medical College

Yes, according to the UP PG medical admission eligibility criteria a candidate who have passed their under graduation  outside UP and is not a resident of UP are also eligible to get admission in private colleges in UP.Candidates must qualify NEET PG with minimum cut off marks.
