AIPGMEE 2014 Exam: Different perspectives-
The post graduate aspirants are done with the AIPGMEE 2014 exam. While covering the exam analysis of AIPGMEE 2014, mixed reactions were seen at different levels. Was it all due to the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) or some other factor did work in these different perspectives?

Let us first get clear what this Non Disclosure Agreement is?

The Non Disclosure Agreement abbreviated as NDA was a common term heard during the entire AIPGMEE 2014 exams. The candidates while registering for the AIPGMEE 2014 get covered by NDA. At par the NDA, the candidates are strictly prohibited to disclose any question or contents of the question paper in part or other ways with any person, party and website or with any media publication. Moreover it is given that anyone found breaching the agreement shall be liable for penal action against him/her. Not only this, it may lead to the cancellation of the candidature too.

The following was seen emphasized in a notice on the National Board of Examination’s official website- “The AIPGMEE is a proprietary examination and is conducted by National Board of Examinations. The contents of this test are confidential, propriety and are owned by National Board of Examinations. NBE explicitly prohibits the candidates from publishing, reproducing or transmitting any or some contents of this test, in whole or in part, in any form or by any means or verbal or written, electronic or mechanical or for any purpose. Violation of any act or breach of the same shall be liable for penal action and cancellation of candidature at the bare threshold.” For detailed notice, click here.

What effect did NDA make?

As per the notification of NBE; there is the provision of penalty for breach or violation of NDA, the students as well as the preparing institutes were seen hesitating on providing any information related to the AIPGMEE 2014 exam. It was as such the agreement has put a major setback to their minds and has kept them away from providing information on any query even the general ones. Yet some of the general information were gathered from both the aspirants as well as the coaching institutes which will be covered in this article.

AIPGMEE 2014 Exam: The Different Perspectives

This part comprises some of the questions which were replied by the AIPGMEE 2014 aspirants as well as the coaching institutes.

Q. How was the paper pattern of this year different from the last year?

While the coaching institutes replied the following - Students are bound of NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) given by Natboard. So we don't know the nature of questions asked in AIPGMEE 2014; the AIPGMEE 2014 aspirants told that it was a bit tough than the last year as this year NBE is conducting the exam and difficulty level of questions has increased.

Q. Among the three sections-Clinical, Pre-Clinical and Para-Clinical; which one was the toughest?

Replying to this question, both of the groups seemed to agree at the point that the current trend is that Pre-Clinical and Para Clinical are given more importance than the Clinical subjects. Thereby the questions are asked from the Pre-Clinical and Para-Clinical are the tough than those asked from the Clinical subjects.

Q. Every national level exam throws little or more surprises. What were the surprising elements in AIPGMEE 2014? How could an aspirant face these surprises? What measures he must have taken to face such surprises? (Talking in terms of unexpected questions)

The following question too has a consensus reply that the Natboard always surprises PG aspirants. Picture based clinical scenarios is a welcome move in PGMEE exams.

Q. It is seen that no negative marking system is followed in AIPGMEE 2014. How is it possible that the candidates have their marks in decimals? What are the reasons behind it?

The question did not get the desired reply. Neither the coaching institutes nor the students could reply regarding the marks in decimals. While the students were unaware of the decimal marking system, the coaching institutes responded that most of the competitive exams come with negative marks. But it is little strange that AIPGMEE was conducted without any negative marks. Moreover the tie-breaker criteria for AIPGMEE 2014 are based on the age of an aspirant. (Inter se merit will be determined according to age, older will get preference over younger)
In addition to the above response, the coaching institutes also commented that Prometric follows a unique system which is very much unpredictable. None of the aspirants have an idea about IRT theory and other standardization techniques.

Q. Time management always plays a crucial role in each and every exam. What is your viewpoint in the purview of AIPGMEE 2014? How shall one divide the time with such a large number of questions? Please throw some more light regarding it.

This question had its own answers. While the students replied on their own perspective, the coaching institutes replied on an advisable track. The coaching institutes calculated that 3 hours and 30 minutes was sufficient for 300 questions. Every 1 hour - 100 questions. Last 30 minutes for review of question. But those who took the AIPGMEE 2014 exam, every of them reacted that they lacked in time duration. Some of them said that at least half an hour more was required for revision. Therefore both the groups had their own respective take and could be considered right at their place.

Q. Every exam has some set of new questions and some questions are repeated. What was the ratio between these two if we talk about AIPGMEE 2014?

Again the question was responded differently. The coaching institutes did not want to reply anything on the very query and said, “We cannot discuss anything as students are bound by NDA (Non Disclosure agreement) provided by NATBOARD.” The AIPGMEE 2014 aspirants gave an overview that only 10% of the questions were repeated.

Therefore we get to know that indeed the NBE utilizing NDA as a handy tool has put an effective pressure on the aspirants and coaching institutes not to disclose anything regarding any question or any part of it in any manner, which may serve the purpose it has been laid for. There were previous news that several of the questions and sometimes papers too got leaked and it disturbed the actual meaning of conducting entrance tests. Thereby such a step taken by NBE could mark significant results.

Rahul 16th Nov, 2019

yes do more hard work because  in coaching classes if you are scoring under1 k rank then only it's possible for you to get below 50k rank in neet so read all the ncrt book and clear  your basic and study hard to get good marks as well

I have received EWS certificate after submitting Neet Pg application form under general category. Can it be changed during correction period?

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 16th Nov, 2019

Unfortunately you cannot change your Category during the correction window either. NBE has disallowed any corrections of basic information such as Name, Date of Birth, Nationality, Gender, Email Id, Mobile no#, Photograph, Signature, Exam City and Category. To avail EWS reservation, you may have to re-register using another Email Id and Mobile no# and fill in another application which means its altogether a new payment again. But you cannot change your Category.
