AIPMT-tipsLast Week Preparation Strategy:

Do revision as much as possible: Shailendra Maheshwari, Director Academics, Career Point says, that your preparation strategy now must get converted into revision strategy. He advises aspirants to go through class notes, read important derivations carefully just to understand the concept, remember different assumptions and conditions associated with different formula, and practice as much as possible.

Don’t go to new topics: The experts also strongly recommend that candidates must not attempt any new section during final lap of preparation. They also advise candidates to avoidwriting the theoretical statements on paper and repeating entire theory again and again.

Focus on strong areas and scoring topics:  To score good marks in AIPMT 2014 entrance exam it is important to revise the entire syllabus. But based on the expert inputs there are certain topics in Physics, Chemistry and Biology which must be thoroughly revised by candidates to perform better in the AIPMT 2014 entrance exam. Some of the important topics from each subject that are highlighted by experts are mentioned below:

Heat and Thermodynamics, Waves, Optics, Modern Physics

Ionic Equilibrium, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics, GOC, Carbohydrates, Proteins and Polymers, P Block, Chemical Bonding

Human Physiology, Plant Physiology, Ecology, Genetics, Organism and population, Living world and biological classification, Organism and population, Biodiversity and conservation

Practice as much as possible: The competitive exams are relative exams where you have to perform well as compared to your peers. Therefore practice plays a vital role here, the more you practice more you enhance your exam taking skills and examination temperament. The mock tests actually do the same for you.

Exam Taking Strategy: D-day Tactics

Approach your strong and weak areas differently: On the basis of expert thought it is advisable to attempt sections in AIPMT 2014 question paper based on your strength and weakness. For example if you like Biology you must attempt it first. The more correct question you will solve in this section, it will enhance your confidence level and ease your exam pressure. But you must stick to time limit while solving this section. Try to solve as much question as you can without wasting much time in tricky question.

After attempting your strong topic you must attempt the topic in which you are weak. Try to solve the question in this section with full concentration and give extra time to it. You must be very clear while marking answer. Just don’t blindly guess the answer because of negative marking. You must give 5 to 10 minutes extra time to your weaker section against the allotted time.

AIPMT-time-managementTime Management:  The exam duration for AIPMT 2014 is 3 hours. But, those who make most out of it take the winning edge when the merit list is out. According to experts, the way you manage those ‘crucial 3-hours’ makes all the difference. Brajesh Maheswari, Director & HOD Physics, Allen Coaching Institute, Kota, says, “Time management is the key to score good marks.” He advises students to first attempt simple and those questions which they feel confident about. And then go for the difficult questions in the second round. “In the second round, candidates can solve difficult questions by their alert and active mind”. Further he says, “Students must complete the biology portion first so as to save time for Chemistry and Physics. Generally the levels of difficulty for Biology students are Biology, Chemistry and then Physic.”

Shailendra Maheshwari, Director Academics, Career Point, however, suggest that candidates should sometime use approximation for those questions which seems lengthy. “Candidates should not waste too much of time on one question. In case of lengthy calculation, use approximation method to derive the answer of the given question,” he advices.
