AIPMT 2016 Latest Update - Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2016 exam in two phases, as per the Supreme Courts order. AIPMT 2016 has been renamed as NEET 2016 Phase 1 and has been conducted successfully on May 1, 2016 at various centres across the country. The second phase of NEET 2016 will be conducted on July 24, 2016. The combined result for both the phases will be declared on August 17, 2016 for providing admissions to as many as 52, 305 MBBS and BDS seats in government medical and dental colleges of India.

SC opens NEET 2016 Phase 2 for all; scraps state level medical entrance exams
Supreme Court today ruled that NEET 2016 Phase 2 exam scheduled to be conducted on July 24 can be taken by all candidates irrespective of their appearance in AIPMT/NEET Phase 1 held on May 1. However, NEET phase 1 examinees who appear for NEET Phase 2 will lose the NEET Phase 1 Score.
Supreme Court has scrapped medical entrance tests for private colleges and deemed universities. A SC bench of three judges headed by Justice AR Dave said that “it is clarified that no examination shall be permitted to be held for admission to MBBS or BDS studies by any private college or association or any private/deemed university.''

CBSE asks candidates to check emails for modification in AIPMT 2016 applications
Central Board of Secondary Education, the exam conducting authority of AIPMT 2016, is examining the right hand index finger impression, signature and photograph uploaded by the candidate in AIPMT 2016 application form.
Accordingly, wherever the discrepancy or deviation will be observed in the uploaded content, the applicant will receive an SMS and email on their registered mobile number and email id. Such candidates need to upload the new scanned images as per the communication by logging into their account on AIPMT website.
Note: It is advisable for the candidates to check their accounts on regular basis for doing the needful within the given time period.

AIPMT 2015 counselling analysis - 875 seats reverted to states
Around one-fourth of the total AIPMT 2015 unfilled MBBS and BDS seats have been reverted to the respective states – 17 more than the seats returned in AIPMT 2014. According to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) data, a total of 875 out of 3,429 undergraduate medical and dental seats under AIPMT All India 15% quota scheme have been returned to the states after AIPMT 2015 Counselling Round 3.

Private Medical Colleges do not participate in All India Counselling and the seats are filled through State Counselling alone. And for appearing for State Counselling you need to hold the domicile of that particular State. Or else the only other option is through Management Quota. Under All India Quota, All the 15% of All India Quota Seats except for Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, 100% Seats at Deemed and Central Universities, IP Quota seats in ESIC Colleges, Seats at AFMC are filled by DGHS. The 85% State Quota and Private Colleges are filled by the respective State Authorities. And there are 3 Categories in Private Medical Colleges. Category A is the Government Quota Seats. And only candidates of the home State are eligible to apply for these seats. B Category seats are also called Management Quota Seats and they are filled through State Counselling and the remaining seats are filled through direct Admissions by contacting the College directly. Here the fees is usually nothing less than 40 lakhs. The last Category is NRI seats Category and you cannot apply for that.
