Careers360: Tell us something about you and personal life like where you belong to, schooling, parent’s occupation.
Kusham Sarao: I am Kushamdeep Singh. My loved ones call me Kusham Sarao I was born on December 17, 2000. I am from Sangrur, Punjab. I have completed my Class 10 from Bachpan English School, Sangrur. I passed Class 12 from Springdales Public School, Sangrur, Punjab and scored 87% in CBSE board examination from the medical stream.
I am a national champion in Skating. I started skating from Class 5 just for fun, which turned me to be a professional skater. I opened a start-up at age of 17 named as, Rollyab, which now is the leading seller in my field. My father is a government official.
Careers360: Which college are you from and in which year?
Kusham Sarao: Currently, I am pursuing MBBS from Government Medical College, Amritsar, first year.
Careers360: How was your first day in college? Please share your experience, hiccups faced in the initial days. How your faculty members and seniors supported you.
Kusham Sarao: The first day on the college campus was quite interesting. On the first day, there was gathering in the college auditorium where teachers told us about college. Faculty is so good and seniors are also helpful. They help so much during exam time.
Careers360: Is there something one needs to do on the first day of college?
Kusham Sarao: I would like to advise you to prepare a good introduction, interact with all and don’t be shy while interacting with others.
Careers360: How good is the infrastructure of the college including premises, hostel, mess, laboratories, classrooms, and all?
Kusham Sarao: The infrastructure is not so good as it is a government college. However, I love the campus which is so big and green.
Careers360: Does the infrastructure of a college affect a student's life?
Kusham Sarao: Yes the infrastructure of a college affects a student’s life but to some extent.
Careers360: How good is life in a government college and a private college comparing all the aspects of studies, infrastructure, faculties, and all?
Kusham Sarao: In Government college, there is less fee as compared to private medical colleges. Government college has a good face, but studies of private colleges are good.
Careers360: What important lessons do you learn in college?
Kusham Sarao: How to live life to the fullest - is the best and biggest lesson I have learnt in my college.
Careers360: How prevalent is ragging in college and how do authorities take care of it?
Kusham Sarao: There is no ragging as authorities of Government Medical College, Amritsar is very strict for it.
Careers360: Why did you opt this college? Is this college upto your expectations?
Kusham Sarao: Since it is the best medical college in Punjab, therefore I opted for this college.
Careers360: Describe facilities at the campus in brief? What do you like the most here? What is the most unique and differentiating feature here?
Kusham Sarao: In my college campus, sports complex is the best thing, and the Naveen canteen is the amazing.
Careers360: How do you maintain balance in exams, projects, studies and other activities?
Kusham Sarao: I think time management is the best solution for this. I believe that we have 24 hours in a day, of which 8 hours of sleep and remaining 16 hours are sufficient for all these things.
Careers360: What are the popular hangouts of the college? What do you think are the most visited places nearby?
Kusham Sarao: Verka, Naveen canteen, a football ground are the best places to roam around in the college and places mostly visited by.
Careers360: In which hospitals or field your college students get hired into?
Kusham Sarao: Most of the students from Government Medical College, Amritsar, get hired into its affiliated to the hospital - Guru Nanakdev Hospital, Amritsar.
Careers360: What are your future plans and any advice to other students searching for better colleges?
Kusham Sarao: I have a dream to become a doctor as MBBS is the best degree.
