Centre has announced 5 new All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the Union Budget 2015 tabled in the parliament on February 28, 2015. The new AIIMS will be set-up in the states of J&K, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Assam.

Announcing the set of 5 new AIIMS in the parliament during his budget speech, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said, “In the fiscal year 2015-16, I propose to set up All India Institutes of Medical Sciences in J&K, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh and Assam.”

The previous set of 6 AIIMS established under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) at Jodhpur (Rajasthan), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Patna (Bihar), Rishikesh (Uttarakhand), Bhubaneshwar (Orissa) and Raipur (Chhattisgarh) have already become functional now. Admissionsto these AIIMS were done through AIIMS MBBS entrance examconducted by AIIMS, New Delhi.

Like the previous set of AIIMS which began with 100 seats each, the 5 new AIIMS' are expected to have a similar capacity in terms of seats for the MBBS programme. At present, there are 7 AIIMS in operation in India including AIIMS, New Delhi. With the introduction of the five new AIIMS, the total number of premier medical institutions in India will go up to 12. Accordingly, the total number of seats is also expected to go as high as 1200 in the upcoming academic sessions. 

The intakes and details regarding academics and infrastructure of the new AIIMS will be announced later. As per the admission process of AIIMS, admission to new institutions is also likely to come under the national level AIIMS MBBS entrance exam.

Did AIIMS exam helps to get admission in BSC nursing

Dear aspirant AIIMS conducts AIIMS NURSING exam every year for courses B.Sc (H) Nursing, B.Sc Nursing (Post-Basic) and M.Sc Nursing. The basic registration of AIIMS Nursing 2020 for B.Sc courses will start in the last week of November 2019.

AIIMS B.Sc (H) Nursing Eligibility Criteria:

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 under the 10+2 scheme/Senior School Certificate Examination or Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination from a recognized University/Board of any Indian State
  • They must have studied English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology as mandatory subjects and secured a minimum aggregate mark of 55% for Gen/OBC candidates and 50% in case of SCs/STs category candidates.

there is a news that all exams like AIIMS and other have been cancelled , and any student who want to make MBBS should approach NEET , In any college of India. Is this true or not ???

Hi Prabha,

Yes. According to the new criteria all students who want to appear for MBBS have to appear for NEET and there will be no separate tests for AIIMS and JIPMER. Admission in both the Institutions will be on the baiss of NEET score only. So the news you have heard is absolutely true.

Is... Aiims, jipmer and neet are conducting together in 2020

Hello dear student,
This time individual exams of aiims and jipmer have been scrapped off from the shevles. So there will be no individual exams will be held . But NTA will be conducting NEET which is the national entrance test and aiims and jipmer are included in this exam only that is seats of these colleges will be filled by NEET only . Now from 2020, there is no AIIMS MBBS entrance examination. So Candidates who want to study in AIIMS New Delhi and the rest of its branches have to appear for NEET alone. If you are planning on appearing for NEET, this might help you:

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Indian Nationals, NRIs, PIOs, OCIs, and Foreign Nationals
  • No upper age limit as of now. The Candidate should be at least 17 years by December 31st of 2020
  • You should have completed your 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as your Core Subjects.
  • 50% Aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for General Category, 45% for PWD and 40% for OBC,SC,ST Candidates.
  • NIOS and Private Candidates are also eligible

IMPORTANT DATES:

Registration Dates: 2nd to 31st December, 2019
Downloading of Admit Cards: 27th March, 2020

what is the procesure to take admition in radiology department in aiims?

Hi there,

The process for admission in the B.Sc(Hons) Medical Technology in Radiology in AIIMS are as follows:

1.The Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate should posses an Indian citizenship and should be of 17 years of age at time of admission.(17 years old on 31 December of the year of admission)
  • The candidate should complete his/her class XII with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognized board or university.
  • English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/mathematics must to be included in class XII.They are counted as the main subjects.

2. The Selection Process:

  • The candidate have to appear for the online entrance examination conducted by AIIMS for taking the admission for the course of B.Sc(Hons.) Radiology.
  • The selection is solely based on the merit of the candidate.


3.Counselling:


  • All eligible candidates whose name will be mentioned once the result for their chosen program for admission into AIIMS B.Sc. courses is out will be given a Call Letter for Counselling on the official website of AIIMS B.Sc. Admissions.


  • The counselling is to organized for all seven AIIMS and will be done in an offline mode at AIIMS, New Delhi.
  • The first round of counselling will comprise of the Mock Round for Counselling as well. An email/message alert will be sent to the selected candidates who are to be called in for counselling,
  • The choice of college has to be filled before the offline counselling process at AIIMS New Delhi. Candidates must note that for the counselling process, they will have to fill their choices through online mode.
  • . Candidates will be required to mark their preferences as per their ranks and seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of their rank, filled choices and seat availability.
