As medical PG exam season begins towards the end of the year, here’s a fact sheet on these exams.

National Board of Examinations (NBE) will conduct AIPGMEE entrance examination for admission to 50% All India quota seats of MD/MS/Diploma, in various Government medical colleges of India except PG Medical Colleges of Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. As per Medical Council of India (MCI) data, as on September 2014, there are 78 MD/MS and 61 Diploma courses offered in various Medical Colleges across the country.

According to officials 11 states and 4 medical institutions will consider AIPGMEE 2015 score for admission to its respective MD/MS seats.

AIPGMEE 2015 exam will be a computer-based test as per the syllabus prescribed by Graduate Medical Education Regulations. The booklet of AIPGMEE 2015 exam will have questions from subjects taught during the MBBS course including pre-clinical, para-clinical studies. The clinical exam will have 300 Multiple Choices Questions (MCQ), with single correct response. The weightage of MCQ’s in each specialty will vary and examination authority, NBE has the right to alter/vary/amend the marks of the question. There will be no negative marking.

AIPGMEE 2014 Counselling – Highlights

In AIPGMEE 2014 Counselling, 30495 candidates participated for approximately 6000 MD/MS/Diploma seats. According to exam officials, in the AIPGMEE 2014 first round seat allotment, out of 100 top rankers, as many as 32 either skipped the online counselling or could not get their subject of choice.


In the first round of counselling, MD (Radio-Diagnosis) emerged as the top preferred course and was opted by 45 out of top 100 qualifying candidates. MD- General Medicine and MD- Paediatrics emerged as second and third favourites with 27 and 10 candidates respectively.

Though most of the PG seats were filled through AIPGMEE 2014 counselling, many seats still remained vacant. Hello,


As per NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria,

candidate must have provisional or permanent medical registration certificate issued by MCI or a State Medical Council. that is to be carried on the day of the exam and during admission.


So, having a provisional certificate is also applicable.


In addition to the above criteria, candidates needs to have a valid MBBS degree from an institution recognized by MCI and have a degree or provisional certificate.Also, it's mandatory to have completed rotatory internship on or before 31st March, 2020.

If you are asking about neet pg, then photo requirements for neet pg application form is that"-
  • it should be a color one with white background only and at least 75% coverage of the face and head of the candidate, it should be passport-size, and not older than 6 months,
  • should be devoid of any border and the facial features and should be clearly visible,recently clicked,
  • Should be having the name of candidate ,date of capturing the photograph  imprinted at the bottom of the photo,
  • should be of 3.5*4.5 cm (width*height) in dimension and
  • the file size not more than 80 KB,printed on a high-quality paper with a resolution of at least 600 dp.

The NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria for aspirants appearing in the postgraduate medical examination has been listed below.

Candidates must possess a valid MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), and have an MBBS degree or provisional certificate to that effect.
Completion of the rotatory internship on or before March 31, 2020.
Provisional or permanent medical registration certificate issued by MCI or a State Medical Council. This must be carried on the day of the exam and during admission.
Candidates who have studied/qualified MBBS from Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota seats. Only candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to study MBBS from Medical Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible for All India 50% quota seats. Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring this.

Dear Sreenivasan, NBE hasn't released NEET PG official notification and schedule yet. As of now, all we have is a tentative schedule. The official notification will be released tentatively during the 1st or 2nd weeks of November. To be eligible for NEET PG, you should be able to complete your 1 year Mandatory Internship ateast by March 31st,  2020.
