Being SEBC and EWS which category shuld I choose in neet form ??

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 12th Dec, 2019

hi,

see one candidate can only apply for one type of category. in neet ug form there is option for obc ncl, sebc is comes under obc-ncl and if  family income is less than 6 lakhs you may apply in obc ncl. however ews certificate is for general category candidates who dont have any other reservation criteria and whose family income is less than 8 lakhs per annum, also they have to satisfy the asset and income criteria to become eligible for ews. and you need to have valid documents for proof of ews or obc-ncl  criteria. so I would suggest you to choose the category which you have legal documents on behalf of it.

Neet examination is the only gateway to all the medical colleges of India including all the aiims and Jipmer as well, even if you want to pursue your mbbs from abroad then also qualifying neet examination is mandatory and without qualifying neet examination you cannot go abroad for your mbbs. So yes, you need to apply for NEET examination and qualify it even if you want to pursue your mbbs in abroad.

Aditya kumar Student Expert 12th Dec, 2019
Hello there!
Greetings!

There's no need to worry even if you have completed your Bachelor's in physiotherapy and had passed class 12th in the 2015 as you are still  eligible  for neet examination provided you have got at least 50 % aggregate in pcb in your class 12th board examination from a recognized board if you belong to general category ; while it's only 40% aggregate in pcb for obc, sc and st categories , 45 % aggregate in pcb for pwd category.

my 12th marks are 63 in biology 50 in chemistry 38 in physics and 21 in mathematics..will there be any issues in counselling after i clear the cut off marks of neet

Aditya kumar Student Expert 12th Dec, 2019
Hello there!
Greetings!
You didn't mention whether Mathematics is your additional subject or not . Nevertheless, if your result status is pass then there's no problem and you will be eligible for neet examination as marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for eligibility for admission to Undergraduate Medical Courses like mbbs etc. Your aggregate score in pcb is 63+38+51=151 i.e 50.3 % so you are eligible for neet examination and thus you will not face problems during neet counselling .

You can check the neet eligibility criteria provided below :-

  • You must have passed in Physics,
Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of
50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology in your class 12th board examination from a recognized board if you belong to general category ; while it's only 40% aggregate in pcb for obc, sc and st categories , 45 % aggregate in pcb for pwd category.

  • To be eligible for Neet 2020 you need to be at least 17 years old or more by December 31st, 2020 .

  • There's no upper age limit for neet 2020.

  • There's no attempt limit for neet examination.

  • Recognized open boards like Nios etc, private students are also eligible for neet 2020.
