JIPMER PG 2016 Exam Pattern - The exam pattern of JIPMER MD MS 2016 July session provides an overview to candidates about exam duration, number of question, marking scheme, syllabus, etc. With the help of JIPMER PG 2016 exam pattern candidates can prepare well for the exam. JIPMER PG national level entrance exam for admission to Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) programmes in various courses offered under Clinical and Basic Clinical Sciences. JIPMER PG 2016 entrance exam for July session is scheduled to be held on May 15, 2016 for a total of 122 seats out of which 111 are Indian and 11 for Sponsored/Foreign candidates.

It is important for aspirants to know the JIPMER PG MD MS 2016 exam pattern so that they can efficiently prepare for the exam. The detailed information is given below regarding number of questions asked in the paper, subjects, marking scheme and duration of JIPMER PG 2016 exam.

Exam Day & Time – JIPMER PG 2016 will be conducted on May 15, 2016. The exam will be of 3 hours duration from 09: 00 AM to 12:00 PM

Mode of JIPMER PG 2016 – Exam will be conducted in online mode only i.e. Computer Based Test (CBT)

Number of questions - The online question booklet of JIPMER PG 2016 will have 250 Multiple Choice Questions with single correct response. There will 100 questions from Basic Clinical Sciences and 150 from Clinical Sciences. All questions will be of one best / correct response type having four alternatives

JIPMER PG MD MS 2016 marking scheme –

  • 4 (four) marks for each correct response

  • Negative Marking - 1(one) of the marks will be deducted for each incorrect response

  • Zero mark will be given for the questions not answered

Language of the Question Papers – The online question booklet given to candidates will be in English language

JIPMER PG 2016 Syllabus - The booklet of JIPMER PG 2016 exam will have questions from subjects taught during the MBBS course including pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical.

The topics which will be covered in JIPMER PG 2016 syllabus is given below:

  • Basic Clinical Sciences - 100 Questions - (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine & Toxicology)

  • Clinical Sciences- 150 Questions - (Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Community Medicine, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Anaesthesiology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis, Radio-therapy, Emergency Medicine, Nuclear Medicine, Blood Transfusion Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine).

The result of JIPMER PG 2016 exam (July Session) will be declared on May 25, 2016. Candidates can check their result by entering their application number and date of birth. According to officials, JIPMER MD/MS 2016 result will be declared only for those candidates who will score the qualifying marks. As per the qualifying criteria, general candidates have to score a minimum of 50 percentile in the entrance exam irrespective of the category.

subject wise marks distribution for JIPMER EXAM ?

From 2020, there is no more JIPMER MBBS exam. Admissions to JIPMER in Karaikal and Puducherry will happen through NEET score only through All India Counselling. NEET has 3 subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The exam will be conducted on May 3rd, 2020 in offline mode. There will be 180 questions. Biology has the largest no.of questions with 90 and Physics and Chemistry have 45 questions each. Every correct answer will give you 4 marks and because there is negative marking, wrong answer will take away 1 mark. The exam is for 720 marks.

When will the JIPMER PG MDS 2020 be conducted?

The JIPMER PG MDS 2020 January session exam has already been conducted on 8 December 2019. Results were declared on 17 December 2020. The counselling for the same are going on and are expected to last till February 2020.

The JIPMER PG MDS 2020 July Session exam is expected to be conducted on the third week of May 2020. Applications for the same are expected to start from the fourth week of January 2020 and will last till first week of April 2020. Results will be declared in the month of June 2020.
