Following are the edited excerpts:

Careers360: Congratulations Arun for being the 2nd topper in KEAM!

Arun:Thank you! I am very happy about my results.

Careers360: What is your overall and subject wise score in KEAM medical 2014?

Arun:My overall score is950. I scored 470 in Paper 1 and 480 in Paper2. I scored full marks in Physics.

Careers360:Wow!So was physics one of your strong points?

Arun:Actually, to crack KEAM one needs to concentrate more on Biology.I was confident in physics but I gave more time to Biology during my preparation.

Careers360: Share your preparation strategy with us.

Arun:I studied for just 2 to 3 hours a day, unlike my hostel mates, who studied for atleast 15 hours every day. But, during those hours I concentrated solely on my studies and I prepared smartly.

As already mentioned, Biology should be the top focus. I spent a lot of time in Biology. I basically, referred to NCERT textbooks. In fact, I finished the NCERT book on Biology atleast 10 times!

In comparison, I did not focus much on Physics. I started preparations by solving problems and followed by reading the textbooks 3 times.

Chemistry is my weak point. So, I had to prepare well for it. I focused on it next to Biology.

Careers360: Were you expecting to get such a brilliant score in KEAM 2014?

Arun:Although I was confident, I was not sure if would be among the toppers. You see the exam was too easy for me. But, that was until the Answer Key came out. When I crosschecked the answer key for KEAM, I realized I could be getting a good score. That was when I become confident about expecting a top score.

Careers360: How did your family inspire your preparation?

Arun:See, my family is not financially strong. But, they still sent me for coaching and kept me in a hostel for my preparations. That is a big thing for us. Their support was outmost important to me. My family’s blessings are one of the reasons I scored such good marks in my exam.

Careers360: What about AIPMT? Did you sit for it?

Arun:I was not much interested in AIPMT.I intend to stay in Kerala and serve the people here.  As such, KEAM was my focus.

Careers360: Okay! Enough about studies. Tell us what do you do when you are not studying?

Arun:Honestly, I sleep! I am a homely boy. That is one of the reasons I want to be in Kerala, itself.

However, I do follow cricket a little bit. Virat Kohli is among my favorite cricketers. And yes, I love Malayalam movies! Mohanlal is my favorite star.

From 2020-2021 session onwards, there shall be only one entrance exam for admission to MBBS course and that is NEET

Earlier, AIIMS and JIPMER used to conduct their own entrance test which no longer will take place now.

So, yes NEET will be the only entrance test conducted for admission to MBBS

i have done my 10th from delhi but doing 11 th and 12th from up ...i wanted to know that as i m eligible for participating in neet from up if want admission in college of delhi much will i have to score in neet?

Hello Rishu

Yes, you are eligible to write NEET from UP, even though you want to take admission in a college of Delhi. The admission is taken on the basis of your marks and rank, so it does not matter from which state you have given the exam. But you won't get the benefit of state quota.

Hope it helps you.
