NEET 2016 Latest Updates

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct NEET 2016 Phase 2 examination for all medical aspirants across the country on July 24, 2016 as ruled by the Supreme Court of India. The apex court has asked CBSE to go ahead and conduct the examination allowing those candidates also, who had already appeared in the first phase of NEET 2016, which was conducted on May 1, but with a condition that they have to give up their candidature of NEET 2016 Phase 1 examination.

The SC has also cancelled all private and state level medical entrance exams after observing that there was no infirmity in the NEET regulation on the ground that it affects rights of states or private institutions, as filed through a writ petition by various states and minority medical colleges.

 

The combined result for both the phases will be released on August 17, 2016 for providing admissions to as many as 52,305 MBBS and BDS seats in all government, private, central, deemed medical universities across India.

SC opens NEET 2016 Phase 2 for all; scraps state level medical entrance exams

 

Supreme Court today ruled that NEET 2016 Phase 2 exam scheduled to be conducted on July 24 can be taken by all candidates irrespective of their appearance in AIPMT/NEET Phase 1 held on May 1. However, NEET phase 1 examinees who appear for NEET Phase 2  will lose the NEET Phase 1 Score.

SC scraps medical entrance exams for private colleges, deemed universities

 

Supreme Court has scrapped medical entrance tests for private colleges and deemed universities. A SC bench of three judges headed by Justice AR Dave said that “it is clarified that no examination shall be permitted to be held for admission to MBBS or BDS studies by any private college or association or any private/deemed university.''

AIPMT 2016 - NEET 2016 Phase 1 conducted on May 1; over 6 lakh candidates take exam

 

AIPMT 2016, which is now recognised as NEET 2016 Phase 1, has been conducted successfully on May 1, 2016 at 10 am at 1,040 examination centres in 52 cities across India and abroad. SC rejects Centre’s plea on NEET 2016 review

 

The Supreme Court of India has rejected Central Government’s plea to review the examination schedule of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2016. The Attorney General of India Mukul Rohatgi on behalf of Central Government submitted a plea on April 29, 2016 before the three Judge Bench headed by Justice Anil Dave for reconsideration of NEET 2016 order which was passed on April 28, 2016.

CBSE announces dates for NEET 2016; May 1 AIPMT is now NEET phase 1

 

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the proposed dates for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2016). As per the NEET 2016 examination schedule, NEET 1 will be conducted on May 1 for those candidates who have filled AIPMT application form. The next phase of the exam NEET 2 will be conducted on July 24 for those candidates who have not filled AIPMT application forms

NEET to be implemented for 2016-17; AIPMT renamed as NEET 2016- phase 1

 

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will conduct National Eligibility cum Entrance Test commonly referred as NEET 2016 for admissions to medical colleges in academic year 2016-17.  CBSE presented a roadmap for implementation of NEET 2016 in Supreme Court on April 28. As per the proposed schedule, CBSE will conduct NEET 2016 in two phases.

CBSE relaxes AIPMT dress code

 

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to allow medical aspirants to appear for AIPMT in religious or customary dresses, with a condition that such candidates will have to reach an hour before the examination for ‘proper frisking’.

CBSE to conduct NEET for 2016-17 admission; SC asks for exam schedule on April 28

 

CBSE has agreed to conduct a national level medical entrance test NEET on April 27 even as Supreme Court asked the stakeholders- CBSE, MCI and Government of India, to chart out a schedule for test which was validated after the apex court quashed its earlier order of 2013 when it was scrapped.

Supreme Court clears way for common medical entrance examination across India

 

The Supreme Court of India has cleared the Medical Council of India (MCI) proposal for a common entrance examination for medical colleges across the country setting aside its previous order under which common entrance examination for MBBS, BDS and PG courses were proscribed.
