NEET MDS Cut off 2023 – National Board of Examinations (NBE) released the NEET MDS 2023 cutoff percentile. As per the latest updates, the authority has declared the NEET MDS result 2023. The NEET MDS cutoff 2023 for General category is 272 and that for SC/ST/OBC is 238.

NEET MDS 2023 cutoff percentile for the general category is 50th and for SC/ST/OBC it is 40th. As per the previous year's cutoff data, the NEET qualifying cutoff score for the general category was 263, while SC/ST/OBC, was 227. On the basis of the entrance exam, candidates can check the NEET MDS 2023 result at natboard.edu.in and nbe.edu.in. The result will be published in the form of a PDF that will mention the names of the candidates, categories, and scores obtained.
All dental colleges accepting NEET MDS scores will grant admission on the basis of the NEET MDS 2023 admission cutoff. The state-wise NEET MDS 2023 cutoff for government and private colleges will be released by the state competent authority.
On the basis of the NEET MDS exam, admission will be offered to 6,501 seats offered to 50% All India Quota seats, 50% state quota seats, deemed/central universities, ESIC, and private universities are granted. Factors determining NEET MDS 2023 Cut off
The cut-off percentile will be derived based on the official marking scheme which mentions that four (4) marks will be awarded for every correct response, while one (1) mark will be deducted for each wrong attempt and no marks for unanswered questions. NEET MDS 2023 Cutoff – Percentile Vs Marks
Aspirants who secure equal to or more than the qualifying percentile will be considered eligible for admission to MDS courses. To qualify for the NEET MDS 2023 exam, candidates belonging to the general category must secure at least the 50th percentile, while the 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC aspirants. Last year, the equivalent score to the NEET MDS cutoff for the general category was 263, while for SC/ST/OBC, it was 227. Aspirants from the general PWD category were supposed to secure the cutoff marks of 245 for the 45th percentile.

A percentile rank shows the performance of the candidate in comparison to others, while a percentage rank shows how well a candidate has performed. Percentile ranks are commonly used to clarify the interpretation of marks on standardized tests, whereas, the percentage of marks is simply calculated based on the marks obtained out of the total marks. Based on the percentile scores, the All India merit list will be prepared. The table below shows the previous year's percentile and cut-off marks of the NEET MDS exam for qualifying.

Types of NEET MDS Cut off 2023
The cutoff of NEET MDS 2023 will be considered for admission to the following postgraduate dental courses:
- 50% All India Quota seats (excluding Jammu & Kashmir)
- 50% State Quota seats (including Jammu & Kashmir)
NEET MDS 2023 Cutoff for 50% All India Quota seats
In order to be eligible to participate in NEET MDS counselling for 50% All India Quota seats, aspirants need to secure the minimum qualifying percentile declared by NBE. Only those candidates who will secure the minimum cutoff scores for 50% AIQ seats will be included in the merit list.
For the year 2022, the 50% All India Quota cut off percentile for each category was same of qualifying NEET MDS cut off. The previous year cut off for 50% AIQ is mentioned below in the table.

NEET MDS 2023 Cut off – Tie Breaking Procedure
In case the marks of two or more candidates will be equal, then the authority will use the following inter-se merit process to determine the merit position:
- Number of correct responses: Aspirants with more correct responses in the test will be placed at a higher rank
- Date of birth: If the first tie-breaker will fail, then the age of the candidates will be considered. Students older in age will be allotted better ranks in the merit list

NEET MDS Merit List 2023
NBE will prepare the NEET MDS 2023 merit list on the basis of cut-off scores. The authority will release the merit list for All India Quota seats and the state-wise merit list. For admission to dental colleges, the rank list will be prepared as listed below:
- All India NEET MDS rank: It includes the overall merit rank of all the candidates who appeared for NEET MDS
- All India 50% Quota rank: This list shows the merit position of aspirants amongst all the candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam and are eligible for 50% AIQ seats
- All India 50% Quota Category rank: This is the merit position of candidates in the respective categories (OBC/SC/ST), as chosen by students while filling the NEET MDS application form, amongst the aspirants eligible for 50% AIQ seats
- State Quota rank: State quota rank, state category rank, the benefit of in-service candidates, rural posting (if applicable), and other will be determined by the designated authority of the particular state
NEET MDS Counselling 2023
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the counselling for admission to 50% All India Quota seats, deemed and central universities/colleges. In order to be eligible for counselling, candidates must secure the minimum qualifying NEET MDS 2023 cut off as prescribed by NBE.
To participate in NEET MDS 2023 counselling, aspirants have to register themselves online by entering the required details. During the registration process, they have to fill their preferences of colleges as well as courses. On the basis of these preferences, NEET MDS rank and availability of seats, the seat allotment process will be done. Once admission will be granted, candidates must report at the allotted college for verification of documents and completion of admission procedure.
