NEET MDS 2020 Result – Percentile Vs Percentage
A percentile rank tells that how well a candidate performed in comparison to others while the percentage shows how well a candidate performed in the test. Percentile never gives the marks of how much an aspirant has secured, instead, it just tells the merit position among the candidates who appeared for the test. The example for the better understanding between percentile and percentage will be shown below.
Percentile rank – If the mark of a candidate is greater than or equal to 80%, then he/she will be at 80th percentile, where 8 is the percentile rank.
Percentage – An aspirant securing 75% marks in the test which is of 1000 marks, thus the marks obtained by the candidate is 750. Percentage of a candidate is never affected by the merit position of the aspirant in comparison to the other candidates.
