NEET PG Cut off 2019 – The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is the responsible body for releasing the NEET PG 2019 cut off. The authority has released the result of NEET PG 2019 on January 31. Along with the result, the cut off of NEET PG has been released. The mode of release of the cut off of NEET PG 2019 is only online. The qualifying percentile for General category aspirants is 50 and its equivalent NEET PG cutoff scores is 340. The authority hiked the NEET PG cutoff 2019 scores for general category by 19 marks, while for SC/ST/OBC aspirants, minimum scores has increased by 14 marks. The cut off of NEET PG 2019 has already been made available in percentile mode. However, the equivalent marks to the cutoff percentile is stipulated along with the declaration of result. Securing the NEET PG cut off 2019 means the candidate has qualified the exam. The candidates who clears the NEET PG exam becomes eligible to participate in the counselling process. The cut off percentile is in accordance with the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulation. Candidates can check here all the details pertaining to the NEET PG 2019 cut off.

NEET PG cut off 2019 signifies the eligibility criterion to qualify the exam and to be considered for the counselling process. It does not mean that securing the minimum required percentile will ensure a medical seat. The qualified candidates are required to participate in the counselling process at national and state level post which the admission will be taken on merit and preference basis.

 

NEET PG Cut off 2019 – Minimum Required Percentile

In order to qualify NEET PG 2019, a candidate has to score a minimum of 50th percentile if belonging to an unreserved category. Reserved category candidate or a PwD candidate belonging to a reserved category must secure a minimum of 40th percentile, while a general PwD candidate must secure at least 45th percentile to qualify the exam. The corresponding marks to the qualifying percentile depend on the number of aspirants who took the exam and the relative performance of all the test takers. The marks equivalent to NEET PG cutoff percentile is mentioned in the table below.

Revision in NEET PG Cut off 2019

If in case, the number of candidates who have qualified the exam fall short of the number required in a respective category, then the Central Government in consultation with the Medical Council of India can lower the NEET PG 2019 cut off. The situation of revision in the cut off of NEET PG 2019 arise when enough candidates do not qualify the exam as compared to the number of seats available or candidate do not participate in the admission process. Last year, the NEET PG cut off 2019 was reduced by 15th percentile in each category.

NEET PG 2019 – Tiebreaking Criteria

The tiebreaker criteria are used to decide the ranking of the candidates when two or more candidates score same marks in NEET PG 2019. In order to break the tie, the number of correct responses will be counted. Candidate with more number of correct responses will be considered over others to break the tie. If the tie still persists, the total percentage score of all MBBS professional examinations will be considered. Candidates who have completed primary medical qualification outside India can submit FMGE score out of 300 in place of the score of MBBS professional exams. Candidates with more marks in MBBS professional examinations/FMGE will be given preference over the ones with lower marks. If the tie still fails to break, then the candidate who is older in age will be placed at a higher position over the younger candidate.

 

All India Quota NEET PG Cutoff Ranks for admissions from previous years

All India Quota NEET PG cut off rank signifies the last rank which obtained admission to 50% All India Quota seats under UR, OBC, SC, ST categories. According to the previous year data, unreserved category candidates upto rank of 64205 were considered for admission to MD/MS/PG Diploma seats under 50% AIQ while the NEET PG cut off rank in 2017 was 23845.
