NEET Result 2019 – The National Testing Agency (NTA) will declare NEET 2019 result by June 5, in online mode. The result of NEET 2019 will be released in the form of scorecard. A link to download the NEET result 2019 will be provided on this page, when announced. In order to check NEET 2019 scorecard, aspirants need to login using their NEET roll number and date of birth. NEET 2019 result will display the name of candidates, date of birth, subject-wise marks, total percentile scores, NEET All India Rank (AIR), All India Quota Rank, category rank among others. Along with the NEET result, the marks equivalent to cut off percentile will also be declared.

Only aspirants securing the minimum qualifying percentile will be considered eligible to qualify NEET 2019. The minimum NEET cut off 2019 for general category students is 50, while that for SC/ST/OBC candidates, it is 40 percentile. Based on the cut off percentile, NEET 2019 result will be announced. On the basis of the result of NEET 2019, the admission to 15% All India Quota seats, 85% state quota seats, 100% deemed and central university colleges, AYUSH courses and B.V.Sc. courses across the country will be granted except for AIIMS and JIPMER institutes. NEET hall ticket 2019 has been issued by NTA on April 15. Students must be downloaded and should be carried at the exam centre for verification purpose. NEET 2019 will be conducted on May 5 in offline mode. Candidates qualifying in NEET exam will be eligible for admission to around 90,000 MBBS and BDS seats in medical and dental colleges across India. After the declaration of NEET 2019 result and cut off, the All India Merit List will be released by NTA comprising of candidates who qualified the exam along with their NEET rank and percentile scores.

How to check NEET 2019 Result?

Candidates can check the step-by-step procedure listed below to check result of NEET 2019 and download their scorecards.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website. The official link to download NEET result 2019 will also be updated here.

  • Step 2: Enter your Roll Number and Date of Birth in the given fields.

Availability of NEET Result 2019

NTA will present the record of NEET scorecard 2019 up to 60 days from the announcement of result. Therefore, candidates are advised to download their NTA NEET 2019 result before the specified duration. Since, the NEET result 2019 will be announced on June 5, thus, the last date of downloading the NEET UG result will be August 5, 2019. Aspirants will not be allowed to download the result after the particular date.

Note: The result of NEET 2019 will be valid for the academic session 2019-20.

How to calculate NEET 2019 Result?

The scores to be obtained by aspirants will be mentioned in NEET result 2019. However, NTA will release the NEET answer key 2019 before the declaration of result. By matching the marked answers with solutions in the answer key, candidates can calculated their expected scores. The result of NEET 2019 for MBBS and BDS courses can be evaluated by using the formula mentioned below.

Formula: 

NEET scores = (Number of correct answers X 4) - (Number of incorrect responses X 1)


What happens when two candidates obtain same marks in NEET Result 2019?

The inter-se merit or All India NEET rank in the result of NEET 2019, where two or more candidates score equal marks, is determined by employing the tie-breaking criteria described in detail below:

  • Biology Marks– Candidates with higher marks in Biology in NEET are given a higher order of merit compared to those with lesser marks in Biology.

  • Chemistry Marks – In case, there is still a tie, then candidates’ marks in Chemistry will be considered. Candidate with higher marks in Chemistry is given a higher order of merit compared to those with lesser marks in Chemistry.

  • Less Incorrect Answers – If the tie persists, the candidate with the lesser number of incorrect answers in NEET will be given a higher order of merit compared to others.

  • Age Factor – If the tie is not broken even after considering all the above factors, the candidate senior in age will be placed higher in the order of merit compared to others.


NEET 2019 Result - Cutoff

  • Candidates are required to obtain minimum qualifying percentile in NEET result 2019 in order to qualify for further admission process.

  • Candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR) category are required to score equivalent to at least 50th percentile and those belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC are required to obtain marks equivalent to at least 40th percentile to be considered for AIQ and state counselling process.

The percentile of NEET is the minimum scores which must be obtained by aspirants to pass in NEET 2019. As per the official prospectus, the percentile scores is determined on the basis of higher marks secured in NEET 2019 exam.

As per the NEET FAQs 2019, published by NTA, "a percentile rank is the percentage of scores that falls below a given score in a group." Courses offered through NEET 2019 Result

NEET, being the most competitive entrance examination for admission to medical and dental colleges for the following courses:

  • MBBS and BDS - NEET 2019 will be the only gateway for admission to MBBS and BDS government and private colleges, central universities, deemed institutes/universities across India. Only AIIMS and JIPMER are out of NEET ambit.

  • AYUSH courses - Through NEET result 2019, candidates will also be granted admission to all AYUSH courses offered across India. These AYUSH courses includes Ayurveda (BAMS), Yoga and Naturopathy (BNYS), Unani (BUMS), Siddha (BSMS) and Homeopathy (BHMS). 

  • B.VSc. and AH courses - Furthermore, NEET scores 2019 will be required for admission to 15% All India Quota seats in Veterinary colleges offering B.VSc. and AH courses (excluding Jammu & Kashmir). 

  • It is mandatory to qualify in NEET 2019 for candidates who wish to pursue medical and dental courses from foreign countries. 


Admission criteria through NEET 2019 Result

Based on the result of NEET 2019, the eligible candidates will be allocated seats in all the government, private, deemed and central colleges under the following quotas:


  1. 15% All India Quota seats: From all the government colleges (except from Jammu & Kashmir), 15% of the total number of seats are reserved under All India Quota seats. Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling for admission to 15% All India Quota seats.

  2. 85% State Quota seats: The remaining 85% seats in government and private medical, as well as private colleges, will be reserved under state quota seats. The admission to 85% state quota seats will be granted by respective state counselling authorities and only the domiciled candidates of the particular state will be considered for admission.

  3. Central Institutes/Universities/Deemed Universities: All the seats offered by medical and dental central institutes/universities as well as deemed universities will be allotted through NEET 2019 result. MCC will conduct the counselling for 100% seats in central institutes and deemed universities.

  4. State/Management/NRI Quota seats: The scores mentioned in NEET UG result 2019 will be the basis for admission to State/Management/NRI quota seats offered by private medical or dental colleges or any private university.

  5. Central Pool Quota seats: All the qualified candidates who will be nominated under Central Pool quota seats will be granted admission through NEET score card 2019 and the counselling for such candidates will be done by MCC.


What after NEET Result 2019?

  • Candidates qualifying the exam and not belonging to J&K state (unless filled the declaration form at the time of filling application form), s/he will need to register themselves online for the counselling process with Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates will be able to check the link to register for the centralised counselling process on NEET Counselling official webpage. The counselling process is likely to start in the second week of June 2019.

  • In case a candidate belonging to Jammu and Kashmir state has qualified the exam and has not opted to participate in All India Quota counselling, then they will need to register for the state counselling process which will be conducted by the state counselling authorities. 

  • Candidates who will qualify NEET can also register the state counselling process conducted for admission to government and private medical and dental colleges considering they fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by the respective states.
