National Eligibility cum Entrance Test
For granting undergraduate medical admission in India, NEET is the single and common medical entrance test. On the basis of NEET, admission to 82,926 MBBS, 26,949 BDS, 52,720 AYUSH and 525 BVSc & AH seats will be granted across the nation. National Testing Agency (NTA) is the competent authority to conduct the NEET for all registered aspirants in offline pen paper based mode. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate
National Board of Examinations (NBE) is the competent authority to conduct NEET PG for eligible aspirants in computer-based mode. NEET PG will be the basis for granting admission to 10,821 Master of Surgery (MS) seats, 19,953 Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats and 1,979 PG Diploma seats offered by 6,102 government, private, Deemed and Central Universities for all qualified medical graduates.
JIPMER PG
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry will conduct the JIPMER PG entrance exam for all registered aspirants. Authorities will conduct the JIPMER PG in January and July sessions for granting admission to Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses offered in Puducherry campus. The mode of conduction of JIPMER PG exam is computer-based.
AIIMS PG
For all registered aspirants, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is the competent authority to conduct the AIIMS PG entrance exam. For granting admission to postgraduate courses like Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and MCh courses, AIIMS PG entrance exam is conducted at the national level. The examination of AIIMS PG is conducted in two sessions of January and July for which the entrance exam is conducted in the month of November and May. Authorities will offer admission to the disciplines of Clinical Sciences and Basic Clinical Sciences through AIIMS PG entrance exam.
PGIMER entrance examination
The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh is the competent authority to conduct PGIMER entrance exam. Authorities will conduct the entrance exam of PGIMER in computer based mode. Through the entrance exam, admission will be granted to 295 seats to be filled in 20 specialties of Masters of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses. The entrance exam of PGIMER is conducted in two sessions of January and July.
