Basic eligibility criteria of PGIMER 2020 exam
Aspirants seeking admission to Masters of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses in PGIMER institute can check the eligibility criteria for PGIMER 2020 below.
PGIMER 2020- General Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants need to hold a valid MBBS degree from a University/Institute recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
Aspirants also must have completed a one-year rotatory internship.
Candidates applying for PGIMER 2020 exam should have a permanent/provisional registration certificate issued MCI.
Indian aspirants will need to furnish proof of their Nationality which holds a valid ID issued by the Indian Government.
Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) candidates will have to furnish proof of their registration under section 7A of the 1955 Citizenship Act at the time of counseling.
Aspirants with foreign nationality will be required to route their applications through the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi after obtaining permission from MCI as per PGIMER eligibility criteria 2020. A copy of all such candidates needs to be submitted before the stipulated deadline for PGIMER 2020 registrations.
PGIMER 2020- Category-Wise Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants applying for different categories under the seat reservation criteria of PGIMER 2020 will be required to fulfill the eligibility criteria of PGIMER mentioned below.
Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST): Aspirants will have to provide a relevant certificate from a competent authority. The certificate must be circulated within a year of the PGIMER 2020 application from the deadline and must be translated to Hindi/English if it is any other language.
Persons with Disability (PwD): Aspirants under this category will be required to present a certificate from a duly constituted and authorized Medical Board of the Central or State Government Hospitals/Institutions certifying the kind of physical inability.
Candidates practicing/practiced in Rural areas: These aspirants can apply for reservation under the RA category upon the furnishing of a certificate from the District Magistrate concerned that they have worked for at least two years in a rural area.
Sponsored or Deputed category: In order to be eligible for this category, aspirants will need to produce the certificates mentioned below from the sponsoring authority or employer.
A certificate to confirm that the aspirant is either a permanent or regular employee working with the relative sponsoring authority for a period of a minimum of three years.
A certificate affirming that the sponsoring authority will employ the candidate for a period of five years at least in the field that s/he will undergo training at PGIMER Chandigarh.
Candidates also need to present a final establishment affirming that any form of financial liability as stipends will be sustained by the employer/sponsoring authority only and there will be no way that PGIMER Chandigarh will be responsible for the same.
PGIMER, Chandigarh had released the PGIMER 2020 application form on March 17, 2020 in the online mode. Aspirants seeking admission to Masters of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses in PGIMER institute were required to fill the PGIMER 2020 application form. Here's the eligibility criteria for for those Indian citizens or Overseas citizens who have pursued their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical colleges that are outside India territory.
- FMG candidates have to mandatorily pass NBE conducted Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) (Screening Test).
- Medical graduates from foreign must be registered with MCI/SMC
- The internship requirement for FMG candidates, as per eligibility criteria of NEET PG, is the same as mentioned above for overall candidates
- On the day of conduction of NEET PG 2020, FMG candidates are required to bring along their FMGE Pass Certificate issued by NBE
