PGIMER Result 2020: The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh had released PGIMER 2020 official brochure on March 17. As per the brochure, the expected date for PGIMER 2020 result was June 2, however this stands postponed until further notice. The authority had also released PGIMER application form 2020 on March 17. The result of PGIMER 2020 will be released in online mode in the form of score card. A direct PGIMER result 2020 download link will be available on this page, when released. Medical graduates can download PGIMER results from the official website of pgimer.edu.in. PGIMER results can be checked by logging in using login ID, password and captcha code. The merit list along with PGI 2020 result will be published for admission to 206 Masters of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) seats. Only candidates who will secure PGIMER minimum qualifying percentile will be considered passed in the entrance examination. In the last session, only 483 aspirants qualified PGIMER exam January session for the counselling process.

PGIMER 2020 test takers from general/sponsored/deputed category must secure at least 55th percentile in the entrance exam. Aspirants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories must obtain 50th percentile, while Bhutanese candidates must secure 45th percentile in the computer based entrance test. PGIMER result 2020- cut off

In order to be included in the result of PGIMER 2020 July session, aspirants must secure the minimum qualifying percentile as specified by the authority. It must be noted that securing PGIMER 2020 result qualifying percentile does not guarantee admission to MD/MS courses. Those who will not secure the PGIMER cutoff 2020 will not be included in the result. The marks corresponding to the PGI 2020 cutoff percentile will be announced along with the result. PGIMER 2020 result - calculation method

A total of 250 questions were asked in PGIMER 2020 for which five alternate responses will be provided, each. After the calculation of raw scores, with consideration of negative marks, the percentile score of an individual candidate is enumerated applying a normalisation method.

The formula used for calculating the raw score for PGIMER result is given below-

Formula: Percentage score = [x/a-y/b]*100

In the above formula:

  • 'x' and 'y' are correct and incorrect responses marked by candidates respectively.

  • 'a' and 'b' are correct responses and incorrect responses in the exam respectively.

The formula used for calculating the percentile score for PGIMER result can be checked below-

Percentile score = [(B+(0.5*E))/N]*100

In this formula:

  • B is the number of scores below the candidate's score.

  • E is the number of scores equal to the candidate's score.

  • N is the number of candidates appearing for the exam.

PGIMER result 2020- merit lists

Based on the scores obtained in PGIMER 2020 result, the conducting body will prepare the merit list of PGIMER 2020 July session. A total of nine category-wise PGIMER merit lists will be released. These merit lists contain only the name of such candidates who have qualified. The various categories of which separate merit list is published has been mentioned below.

  • General category

  • OBC (Other Backward Classes)

  • SC (Scheduled Caste)

  • ST (Scheduled Tribe)

  • RAC (Rural Area Candidates)

  • PwD (People with Disability)

  • Sponsored candidates

  • Foreign National (NRI/OCI)

  • Bhutanese National

PGIMER 2020 result - Tie-breaking criteria

In case the ranks of two or more candidates will be equal in PGIMER 2020 results, then authority will follow the inter-se method to break the ties. The following PGIMER result 2020 tie-breaking method will be used:

  1. Candidates who have obtained higher aggregate marks in MBBS examination shall rank higher to a candidate who has obtained lower marks.

  2. If the tie still persists a candidate senior in age shall rank higher to a candidate who is junior in age. An overall merit list based on the percentile obtained by all the candidates appearing in the examination in the theory examination (irrespective of their category) will be prepared

the eligibility criteria for applying in pgimer chandigarh January ssessions,

candidates are required to have an MBBS degree from a recognized  University or an Institute authorized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).

Candidates must have either completed or due to complete, one-year rotatory internship training on or before 31st December for January a session respectively.

if your internship will complete before 31 december 2020, or on 31 december 2020, you are eligible to apply.

Hello,

Here's the eligibility criteria for for those Indian citizens or Overseas citizens who have pursued their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical colleges that are outside India territory.

  • FMG candidates have to mandatorily pass NBE conducted Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) (Screening Test).
  • Medical graduates from foreign must be registered with MCI/SMC
  • The internship requirement for FMG candidates, as per eligibility criteria of NEET PG, is the same as mentioned above for overall candidates
  • On the day of conduction of NEET PG 2020, FMG candidates are required to bring along their FMGE Pass Certificate issued by NBE
