SMU MBBS 2016 Merit List – The merit list of SMU MBBS 2016 will be based on NEET 2016 score. Sikkim Manipal University will prepare SMU MBBS merit list 2016 based on NEET 2016 score for admission to MBBS programmes in affiliated Medical College. SMU MBBS 2016 entrance exam has been replaced by NEET 2016 as per the Supreme Court order on May 9, 2016. Now, admission will be done on the basis of SMU MBBS 2016 merit list based NEET 2016 score.SMU MBBS 2016 merit list will be announced by Sikkim Manipal University in the month of August, 2016 (tentatively). All candidates who are desirous to seek admission in MBBS programmes have to appear in NEET 2016. Candidates who have appeared in NEET 2016 Phase 1 or will be appearing in NEET 2016 Phase 2, which is scheduled to be held on July 24, 2016 and have also fill the application form of SMU MBBS 2016, will only be eligible to participate in the counselling procedure.

As per the NEET 2016 qualifying criteria for counselling, general category candidates have to score 50% while for OBC candidates have to score 45% in the entrance exam. The table given below shows the category wise qualifying marks in NEET 2016.
Qualifying marks out of total 720 marks
50% which is equal to 360 marks
40% which is equal to 288 marks
45% which is equal to 324 marks

Yes. According to the new criteria all students who want to appear for MBBS have to appear for NEET and there will be no separate tests for AIIMS and JIPMER. Admission in both the Institutions will be on the baiss of NEET score only. So the news you have heard is absolutely true.
