Tamil Nadu Medical Admission 2014 - Selection Committee Directorate of Medical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu has invited the admission form for admissions to the undergraduate medical courses in government and private medical and dental colleges of Tamil Nadu. According to prospectus, there are 2172 MBBS seats in 19 Government Medical Colleges and 85 BDS seats in 1 Dental College of Tamil Nadu. In addition to this, there are thousands of medical and dental seats available in 31 Self Financing Medical/Dental Colleges, out of which 13 and medical and 18 and dental institutes. The important highlights of Tamil Nadu Medical 2014 admission eligibility criteria are given below:
Candidate should be a Native of Tamil Nadu
Should have completed the age of Seventeen years on or before December 31, 2014
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology and Botany)
Candidates who have studied from VIII to XII standards in schools in Tamil Nadu need not enclose the ‘Nativity Certificate’
Candidates who are native of Tamil Nadu but studied from VIII to XII Std either partly or completely in schools situated outside Tamil Nadu should produce the ‘Nativity Certificate’
The Certificate of Nativity in Tamil Nadu should be issued by the competent authority only in the specified format and supported by a copy of Passport/ Ration Card / Birth Certificate. If the copy of the supporting document is not produced, then the application form will be rejected
Selection Procedure: Candidates will be shortlisted for counselling on the basis of their rank as in merit list. Ranking will be made on the basis of marks obtained by the eligible candidates in the science subjects in the qualifying examinations (10+2). Seats of MBBS or BDS in Tamil Nadu Medical or Dental Colleges will allotted to candidates solely on the basis of merit.
Application Procedure: Candidates can fill the Tamil Nadu Medical Admission 2014 form in offline mode. The Tamil Nadu Medical Admission 2014 form is now available and it can be downloaded or purchased till May 30, 2014. The filled application along with necessary enclosures must reach Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai by June 2, 2014. The Tamil Nadu Medical Admission 2014 form must be submitted along with the a Demand Draft for Rs. 500 towards the cost of application form drawn in favour of ‘The Secretary, Selection Committee’ and payable at Chennai.
