About JGEEBILS 2023
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research conducts the Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS). JGEEBILS is a common entrance examination to offer admission in Integrated M.Sc-Ph.D, M.Sc and PhD graduate programmes.
TIFR Nationwide Entrance Examination (GS 2023) for Biology, JGEEBILS is held in the computer-based mode for a time duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes across 59 cities. A total of 60 questions are asked from general, physics, chemistry and biology subjects. 1 mark will be awarded to each correct answer in section A and 2 marks for section B. 0.5 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Through TIFR JGEEBILS, admission is granted to PhD, I.-Ph.D/M.Sc courses. Candidates who wish to join the TIFR JGEEBILS institutions for the respective programmes will have to appear for the written test to secure admissions.
All the participating institutions use the JGEEBILS score as a part of their admission process, but each institution has its own admission procedure. Students need to apply separately to each JGEEBILS participating institution by visiting each institution's website.

JGEEBILS 2023 Eligibility Criteria
It is mandatory for candidates to fulfil the eligibility criteria of JGEEBILS 2023 to appear for the entrance exam. Check the below-mentioned eligibility criteria for JGEEBILS 2023.
For Ph.D program: Aspirants must have masters in basic science (M.Sc. Physics/Chemistry/any branch of Biology) or any professional master's degree ( M.Pharma ./ M.Tech .), or a 4-year degree program (e.g. MBBS , BDS ). Students holding M.Sc in a non-Biology-allied discipline such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics / Computer Science, and who wish to obtain an M.Sc. in Biology, will be offered the option of enrolling in the I-Ph.D. programme at the time of joining.
For I-Ph.D./M.Sc.: Aspirants should have bachelors in any basic science (Physics/Chemistry/any branch of Biology) OR any 4-year degree program that awards Bachelor's degree including B.Tech ., B.E ., B.V.Sc., B.Pharma . (4-year course).
For M.Sc. (Wildlife Biology & Conservation): Aspirants must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (with a minimum of 50% in core subjects) and a strong interest in wildlife research and conservation. Candidates from Central, South and Southeast Asian countries, with similar qualifications, are also eligible to apply. (Note: This programme is offered every alternate year and will not be available for GS2023).

Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria can submit the JGEEBILS application form 2023 on or before the last date. The detailed process is mentioned below.
JGEEBILS 2023 Registration Process: In this step, candidates need to register on the official website and enter basic details such as the correct email ID, mobile number, programme, and others. Verify all the details and submit them. After successful registration, A confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID mentioning login credentials.
Filling out the application form: After login in, click on the application form link and fill in all the details carefully.
Uploading the documents: Candidates will have to upload the essential documents such as a passport-size photograph, and signature at the time of filling out the application form.
Students applying under the fee waiver category need to upload a scanned copy of the recommendation letter from the Principal/HOD of the college.
Those applying under the disability category need to upload a scanned copy of the disability certificate.

Foreign nationals: Overseas applicants who are unable to travel to India, can appear in the exam in online mode on the scheduled date and time. Aspirants need to submit proof of their overseas residency during the application process. Once the overseas option is exercised while applying, it cannot be altered or changed at a later stage.
Payment of application fee: Once the application process is done, pay the application fees in online mode through credit/debit cards/ UPI and net banking.
Print out of the application form: After the successful submission of JGEEBILS 2023 application form. Print out of the confirmation page or download the same for future reference.

JGEEBILS 2023 Selection Process
Candidates who qualify the JGEEBILS test will be invited to submit the application form. Each participating centre/institution uses JGEEBILS score to shortlist the candidates for interviews, but each institution has its own admission procedure. Few TIFR centres use CV, scientific write-up, and letters of recommendation along with JGEEBILS marks to shortlist students. Candidates need to apply for a course separately for each institution.
After receiving the call letter from the relevant institution, the shortlisted candidates will have to appear for on-campus interview on a particular date mentioned in a call letter. The qualified candidates will have to produce the original documents for verification purposes to secure admission in a particular institution.
