About JIPMER PG 2020

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, had successfully conducted JIPMER PG 2020 in computer based mode on December 8, 2019. The authority had declared JIPMER PG result 2020 on December 17, 2019, in the form of merit list. The merit list had been published on the official website of JIPMER, Puducherry for each category separately and also a common merit list for all candidates. The admission has been granted through offline counselling which has started from December 27, 2019. The second round of counselling will be held in January 8, 2020. The counselling for JIPMER PG 2020 is conducted in three rounds followed by a final round. JIPMER PG admission process is scheduled to close on February 29, 2020.

Earlier the authorities had released the JIPMER PG admit card 2020 on November 13, 2019, in online mode. Registered candidates could download the admit card from the official website of JIPMER. The candidates who met the specified basic JIPMER PG eligibility conditions had to fill the JIPMER PG application form till October 25. 

JIPMER PG 2020 is held in the month of January and July for admission to 100 seats in Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses offered in Puducherry campus. The exam was held at around 47 centres in 10 cities in the country. JIPMER is an Institution of National Importance (INI) and is the sole authority to fill MD/MS seats in JIPMER, Puducherry.

The following are the eligibility criteria of JIPMER PG 2020 that candidates are required to fulfill in order to be eligible for the exam. 

  • Candidates are required to possess a degree in MBBS from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). 
  • The JIPMER PG 2020 eligibility criteria requires all applicants to complete the rotatory internship of twelve months mandatorily before December 31. 
  • Candidates need to have an aggregate score of 55% for General/OBC category (including PwD) and 50% for ST/SC category (including PwD) in the MBBS examination.

The application form of JIPMER PG 2020 for January session was available from September 18 to October 25, 2019, in online mode. All the eligible candidates seeking admission were required to fill in the JIPMER PG application form 2020 in order to take up the entrance examination. The various steps to fill the JIPMER PG 2020 application form are as follows:

  • Candidates need to click on the 'Registration' link that has been made available on the official website, read the instructions fill in the requisite details and click on the 'Register' button. Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a User ID and password on their registered email ID and mobile number.
  • Candidates will then have to use the User ID and password to login to the JIPMER PG application form 2020 and fill in the details as asked. Candidates also need to fill their exam centre choices in order of preference. JIPMER Puducherry allocated exam centres on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • In the next step, candidates will be required to upload scanned images of their passport-sized photograph and signature in the required format.
  • The fee for JIPMER PG 2020 registration which is to be paid in this step can be paid online only via net banking, credit or debit cards.
  • After fee payment, candidates can cross-check the filled in details by clicking on the 'Preview' button. Once thoroughly checked, candidates can submit the JIPMER PG 2020 application form by clicking on the 'Submit' button and take a printout of the same for future reference.

The JIPMER PG result 2020 was declared by JIPMER Puducherry on December 18, 2019 in the online mode. The result of JIPMER PG 2019 had been released in the form of merit lists – overall and category wise. Mode of Counselling: Offline

JIPMER Puducherry conducts JIPMER PG counselling 2020 in the offline mode. The authority had conducted the first round of counselling for January session on December 27, 2019. The candidates are required to be physically present for JIPMER PG 2020 counselling at the specified venue on the particular date. The counselling for JIPMER PG 2020 held in four rounds - First, second, third, and final. Candidates who qualify the postgraduate entrance examination by meeting the cutoff requirement specified for each category are eligible for JIPMER PG 2020 counselling. Candidates are called for the counselling process on the basis of their rank. It is not necessary that all the candidates who have qualified the exam have been called for the counselling except for the final round of JIPMER PG counselling 2020.

When will the JIPMER PG MDS 2020 be conducted?

Hi,

The JIPMER PG MDS 2020 January session exam has already been conducted on 8 December 2019. Results were declared on 17 December 2020. The counselling for the same are going on and are expected to last till February 2020.

The JIPMER PG MDS 2020 July Session exam is expected to be conducted on the third week of May 2020. Applications for the same are expected to start from the fourth week of January 2020 and will last till first week of April 2020. Results will be declared in the month of June 2020.

Sir / Maam Jipmer Pg counseling requires Transfer certificate & Migration certificate ,how do they differ in content? I passed from a Foreign Medical college, they provided me with a Transfer certificate only.Will it suffice ?

If you have transfer certificate then it will enough for the admission,it means you have completed the course so you don't need to stress out.

Migration certificate is issued after you finish the university exam.

i have going to complete btech in biotechnology...can i apply for MSc medical biochemistry???

Hello there,

The eligibility criteria for msc in medical biotechnology is that candidate must hold b.sc degree in biochemistry, Chemistry, zoology, nutrition,food science botany
Or bsc in Animal Science, Medicine,or veterinary science or agriculture with minimum 50% aggregate
from any reputed University.
So, having b.tech in biotechnology probably will not help you.
