To pursue Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses in India, one must qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS) exam. National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the NEET MDS exam annually every year as a single window entrance exam. NEET MDS 2020 exam grants admission to around 1326 Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) seats under 50% All India Quota (AIQ), 50% state quota, seats offered by deemed/central universities and ESIC. From all the government dental colleges, 50% seats will be reserved for AIQ candidates, while remaining 85% seats will be available for state quota seats.
The entrance test for MDS admissions is conducted in the second week of December, therefore it is expected to be held on December 15, 2018. NEET MDS 2020 application form will be available in the second week of October 2019. Only aspirants who fulfil the set eligibility criteria can register for MDS entrance exam. The successfully registered candidates can download the admit card of NEET MDS 2020 which must be carried at the exam centre along with the passport size photograph and valid ID proof. NEET MDS is a computer based test containing 240 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The online exam will be conducted for three hours from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. For every correct response, four marks will be awarded, while one mark will be deducted for each wrong attempt and no marks will be given for an unanswered question.
The test takers can download the result of NEET MDS 2020 in online mode. Candidates who will secure the NEET MDS cutoff percentile as prescribed by NBE will be considered eligible for counselling process. The counselling for NEET MDS admissions under 50% AIQ, deemed/central universities and ESIC colleges will be done by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). While the seat allotment for 85% state quota seats and private dental institutions will be done by respective state counselling authorities on the basis of NEET MDS rank and marks. MCC conducts two round of counselling for AIQ seat allotment process, while a mop-up round will be organised for deemed, central and ESIC colleges.
The respective state authorities will conduct seat allotment process either in online or offline, as per their rules. Every candidate should fulfil the domicile criteria as mentioned in the state NEET MDS admission prospectus. The counselling committees will conduct three rounds including the mop-up round.

The NEET MDS 2020 eligibility criteria will be considered for admission to MDS courses. These eligibility criteria are decided by the Dental Council of India (DCI) with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The basic requirements to appear for NEET MDS can be checked below:-
· Candidates must hold BDS degree from a recognised institute to fulfil NEET MDS eligibility criteria 2020.
· Provisional/permanent registration with State Dental Council or DCI by March 31, 2020.
· Completion of one year compulsory rotatory internship by March 31 of the academic year that a candidate is seeking admission is mandatory.

The NEET MDS 2020 exam will conducted for a duration of three hours from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The NEET MDS exam is a computer-based test comprising of 240 multiple choice questions which covers topics from Pre-Clinical, Clinical and Para-Clinical. The syllabus for NEET MDS is taken from the BDS Course Regulations recommended by the DCI. As per the marking scheme of NEET MDS, candidates will score four marks for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no marking for the questions which are not answered by the candidates. The linguistic medium of the NEET MDS exam 2020 will be only English.
NEET MDS admit card 2020 will be accessible from first week of December 2019. Candidates will be required to submit their User ID and password to download the NEET MDS 2020 hall ticket. The admit card can only be received in online mode, as the hall tickets will not be sent via any offline mode. After downloading the admit card, candidates must paste their photograph on the document as only then it will be considered by the authorities at the time of the exam. The admit card of NEET MDS 2020 will carry information like roll number, allotted exam city and centre. Candidates must note that the NEET MDS admit card is also a mandatory document for the counselling process, therefore, it must be preserved even after the conduction of the exam.
NEET MDS result 2020 will specify the qualifying status of the candidates. The result of NEET MDS 2020 will be announced in the form of PDF in the second week of January 2020. The result will contain the score obtained (out of 960), NEET MDS overall rank and roll number of candidates. The scorecard can be downloaded by the qualified aspirants in the third week of January 2020, in PDF format which can be accessed by entering roll no., date of birth and captcha code. The scorecard of NEET MDS 2020 will be valid for the particular academic year in which the candidate has appeared for the exam.
NEET MDS cutoff 2020 is the minimum qualifying percentile which must be secured by the candidates in order to secure the national-level entrance test. The cutoff for NEET MDS 2020 will be declared along with the result. The marks corresponding to the percentile will be released through an official notification. Candidates can check the previous year (2019) qualifying percentile and marks to be secured to qualify the exam.

In case, to fill the remaining vacant seats in the dental colleges of the country, DCI in consultation with health ministry may lower down the cutoff percentile and marks to provide opportunity to other candidates.
Mode of Counselling:
DGHS on behalf MCC will conduct the counselling of NEET MDS 2020 for admission process to 50% All India Quota seats, deemed/central university seats, ESIC and AFMC seats. Jammu and Kashmir does not participate in the central pool quota, therefore, the counselling for seats in government dental colleges is allotted by the state body responsible. The authority will conduct two rounds of seat allotment for AIQ seats, while a mop-up round will be organised for deemed, central and ESIC colleges. In order to participate for NEET MDS 2020 counselling process, aspirants must secure equal to more than the minimum cutoff percentile. The qualifiers can participate for counselling process by registering themselves and providing their preferences of colleges as well as courses. Based on the choice filled, NEET MDS rank, seats availability in the particular college, reservation criteria and other factors, the admission to MDS course will be granted.
While the seat allotment process for 85% state quota and seats in private dental colleges will be conducted by state counselling body as selected by the state government. The respective regulatory bodies will either organise the counselling process in online or offline mode. NEET MDS admissions in the states includes application forms, merit list and seat allotment procedure. However, to apply for state MDS admissions, the qualified candidates must fulfil certain eligibility criteria of domicile, age, nationality and other aspects as laid down by the state counselling authorities.
