About NEET MDS 2020
National Board of Examinations (NBE) had conducted National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Master of Dental Surgery (NEET MDS) exam on December 20, 2019. On behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced counselling schedule of second round for NEET MDS 2020. Authorities will commence the registration of NEET MDS 2020 counselling for round two from June 3 to 9. The result of NEET MDS seat allotment will be released on June 12 in PDF format. Earlier, the result for NEET MDS 2020 has been announced on January 15, 2020, along with the cutoff. Based on the rank, eligible candidates are called for NEET MDS counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The counselling of NEET MDS for the first round had started on March 12. The conducting body, National Board of Examinations (NBE), had released the merit list for AIQ 50% quota on February 18, 2020. The exam was conducted in computer-based mode. NBE had released NEET MDS admit card 2020 for registered candidates on December 13, 2019.
NEET MDS 2020 exam grants admission to around 1326 Masters of Dental Surgery (MDS) seats under 50% All India Quota (AIQ), 50% state quota, seats offered by deemed/central universities and ESIC. From all the government dental colleges, 50% seats will be reserved for AIQ candidates, while the remaining 85% seats will be available for state quota seats. NBE conducts the NEET MDS exam annually every year as a single-window entrance exam.
Candidates who secure the NEET MDS cutoff percentile as prescribed by NBE will be considered eligible for the counselling process. The counselling for NEET MDS admissions under 50% AIQ, deemed/central universities and ESIC colleges is being done by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). While the seat allotment for 85% state quota seats and private dental institutions will be done by respective state counselling authorities on the basis of NEET MDS rank and marks. MCC conducts two round of counselling for AIQ seat allotment process, while a mop-up round will be organised for deemed, central and ESIC colleges.
The respective state authorities will conduct seat allotment process either in online or offline, as per their rules. Every candidate should fulfil the domicile criteria as mentioned in the state NEET MDS admission prospectus. The counselling committees will conduct three rounds including the mop-up round.

The NEET MDS 2020 eligibility criteria will be considered for admission to MDS courses. These eligibility criteria are decided by the Dental Council of India (DCI) with the approval of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). The basic requirements to appear for NEET MDS can be checked below:-
· Candidates must hold BDS degree from a recognised institute to fulfil NEET MDS eligibility criteria 2020.
· Provisional/permanent registration with State Dental Council or DCI by March 31, 2020.
· Completion of one year compulsory rotatory internship by March 31 of the academic year that a candidate is seeking admission is mandatory.

NBE had asked candidates to edit their scanned uploaded images of photograph, signature and thumb impression by November 25, 2019. Such graduates who have discrepancies in NEET MDS application form 2020 had received an SMS or email for the same. Earlier, the correction window of NEET MDS 2020 was available from November 4 to 11, 2019.

The NEET MDS 2020 exam was conducted for a duration of three hours from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. National Board of Examination (NBE) had declared the exam date of NEET MDS 2020. The NEET MDS exam is a computer-based test which was held on December 20, 2019. The exam comprised of 240 multiple choice questions which covered topics from Pre-Clinical, Clinical and Para-Clinical. The syllabus for NEET MDS was taken from the BDS Course Regulations recommended by the DCI. As per the marking scheme of NEET MDS, candidates will score four marks for each correct answer and one mark will be deducted for each wrong answer. There is no marking for the questions which are not answered by the candidates. The linguistic medium of the NEET MDS exam 2020 will be only English.
NEET MDS admit card 2020 had been released for the registered candidates on December 13, 2019. Candidates were required to submit their user ID and password to download the NEET MDS 2020 hall ticket. The admit card was only be received in online mode, as the hall tickets were not be sent via any offline mode. After downloading the admit card, candidates must paste their photograph on the document as only then it will be considered by the authorities at the time of the exam. The admit card of NEET MDS 2020 carries information like roll number, allotted exam city and centre. Candidates must note that the NEET MDS admit card is also a mandatory document for the counselling process, therefore, it must be preserved even after the conduction of the exam.

The authorities had released the merit list for AIQ 50% seats of NEET MDS 2020 on February 18, in the form of PDF. Earlier, the result of NEET MDS 2020 had been announced in the form of PDF on January 15, 2020. NEET MDS result 2020 specifies the qualifying status of the candidates. The result contained the score obtained (out of 960), NEET MDS overall rank and roll number of candidates. The scorecard could be downloaded by the qualified aspirants on January 18 in PDF format which could be accessed by entering roll no., date of birth and captcha code. The scorecard of NEET MDS 2020 is valid for the particular academic year in which the candidate has appeared for the exam.
NEET MDS cutoff 2020 is the minimum qualifying percentile which must be secured by the candidates in order to secure the national-level entrance test. The cutoff for NEET MDS 2020 will be declared along with the result. The marks corresponding to the percentile have been released through an official notification. Candidates can check the previous year (2019) qualifying percentile and marks to be secured to qualify the exam.

In case, to fill the remaining vacant seats in the dental colleges of the country, DCI in consultation with health ministry may lower down the cutoff percentile and marks to provide opportunity to other candidates.

DGHS on behalf of MCC is conducting the counselling of NEET MDS 2020 for admission process to 50% All India Quota seats, deemed/central university seats, ESIC and AFMC seats. Jammu and Kashmir do not participate in the central pool quota, therefore, the counselling for seats in government dental colleges is allotted by the state body responsible. The authority will conduct two rounds of seat allotment for AIQ seats, while a mop-up round will be organised for deemed, central and ESIC colleges. In order to participate for NEET MDS 2020 counselling process, aspirants must secure equal to more than the minimum cutoff percentile. The qualifiers can participate for counselling process by registering themselves and providing their preferences of colleges as well as courses. Based on the choice filled, NEET MDS rank, seats availability in the particular college, reservation criteria and other factors, the admission to MDS course will be granted.
While the seat allotment process for 85% state quota and seats in private dental colleges will be conducted by state counselling body as selected by the state government. The respective regulatory bodies will either organise the counselling process in online or offline mode. NEET MDS admissions in the states includes application forms, merit list and seat allotment procedure. However, to apply for state MDS admissions, the qualified candidates must fulfil certain eligibility criteria of domicile, age, nationality and other aspects as laid down by the state counselling authorities.

The cutoff depends on many factors link the number of students appeared, the level of difficulty of the exam and the total number of seats available. So it is not possible to tell whether the cut off will be increased or decreased. Both are possible depending on the above factors.
