NEET SS 2023 - Round 1 Counselling (Starts), Result (Out), Cut off, Merit List

The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Specialty, also known as NEET SS, for admission to 2,447 Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgie (MCh) seats in 156 institutes across India. 

As per the latest update, the authority has released the NEET SS counselling 2023 final result for round 1. Candidates who have been granted seats in round 1 NEET SS counselling need to report at the allotted institutes on or before November 24.

Earlier, the NBE announced the NEET SS result on October 15.  The NEET SS scorecard was available from October 25. The NEET SS 2023 exam was conducted on September 29 and 30. The NEET SS admit card 2023 was released on September 22.

Earlier, NEET SS 2023 registration was closed on August 16, 2023 at nbe.edu.in.  in computer-based mode. The NBE also released NEET SS 2023 information brochure PDF at nbe.edu.in. Eligible applicants were able to fill out the NEET SS application form 2023 on or before the last date. The NBE NEET SS 2023 information brochure mentioned the important details related to the exam such as eligibility, registration process, fees and more. 

Based on registration, the hall tickets for the NEET SS are released on the official website. Each candidate were required to carry the admit card at the NEET SS 2023 exam centre on the exam day. The NEET SS exam was conducted in a computer-based mode wherein 100 multiple-choice questions will be asked.

NEET SS result was released on the official website in PDF format. Only candidates securing the NEET SS cut-off percentile are considered qualified for the entrance exam. The cutoff scores for NEET SS 2023 are announced along with the result for 32 super-specialities. Those who will qualify for the exam will only be eligible to download the NEET SS 2023 scorecard. Based on the NEET SS 2023 result, eligible candidates will be called for the NEET SS 2023 counselling process, which will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). 

A total of 2 rounds will be conducted in the NEET SS 2023 counselling, wherein, candidates will be required to enter their choice of courses and colleges. Based on the choices filled, seats available, NEET SS rank, reservation criteria, and other factors, admission to DM and MCh seats were granted. Aspirants selected for NEET SS 2023 counselling will be required to report to the designated colleges for verification of documents and the admission process. 

It is mandatory for candidates to fulfil the eligibility criteria of NEET SS 2023 to appear for the entrance exam. The following are the NEET SS eligibility criteria for 2023 which can be checked below.

• For appearing in NEET SS, aspirants require to hold a postgraduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) or any equivalent examination.
• Aspirants who complete their Postgraduate degree are eligible to apply for NEET SS 2023 Candidates without a degree will not be allowed to fill out the application form.
• Applicants must have a provisional or permanent registration certificate issued by the State Medical Council (SMC) or Medical Council of India (MCI), which they must also furnish at the time of examination.

NEET SS eligibility criteria for foreign nationals:

Foreign nationals who wish to take the NEET SS examination for admission to a particular speciality can fulfil certain eligibility criteria:

• MCI registration certificate is not required by the Non-Resident Indians to appear for NEET SS but they need to be registered with the respective medical authority of their country.
• Temporary registration will be provided to such candidates till the duration of the postdoctoral degree after qualifying for the exam.
• This registration will be limited to the college/institution to which anyone gets admission into.

How to fill NEET SS application form 2023?

Step 1 - NEET SS registration 

In this step, aspirants need to register themselves by visiting the official website. Then, click on the new registration tab and enter your personal, contact details as well as the captcha code. Verify the details mentioned in the NEET SS application form and submit it. A confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number and email ID mentioning the user ID and password.

Step 2 - Filling NEET SS 2023 application form

Using the login credentials, user ID and password, aspirants need to log in to their NEET SS applicant portal. Thereafter, click on the link to fill NEET SS application form and enter the asked personal, academic, contact and other information. It is important to enter the details carefully.

Step 3 - Uploading the documents and choosing exam centres

Here, aspirants need to upload a passport-size photograph, signature and left-hand thumb impression at the time of filling out the application form for NEET SS 2023. After uploading relevant documents at the time of NEET SS application form 2023, candidates need to provide their preferences of exam centres in which they wish to take the exam. Based on the choices of exam cities, the authority will allot the test centre on a first come first serve basis. Aspirants need to choose the preferences of NEET SS 2023 exam cities as per their convenience. 

Step 4 - Payment of application fees

Once the application process for NEET SS 2023 is over, aspirants need to pay the application fees of Rs. 4250 irrespective of all categories in online mode through credit/debit cards and net banking. For the successful submission of the NEET SS application form 2023, it is crucial to pay the registration fees. No one can proceed further without payment of the application fee.

Step 5 - Printout of the confirmation page

After the successful submission of the NEET SS 2023 application form, the confirmation page will be displayed on the screen. This confirmation page of the NEET SS application form will mention the name of candidates, personal, academic, contact and other details. Such details need to be verified before downloading it and must be reserved for future reference.

NEET SS 2023 admit card will be released for candidates whose application forms are accepted by the authority. It is important to download NEET SS admit card 2023 as it should be carried along with other documents at the time of examination and during the counselling process.

To download NEET SS admit card 2023, aspirants need to submit their User ID and password as provided by filling out the application form. NEET SS 2023 admit card will be displayed on the screen mentioning the name of candidates, roll number, application number, date of birth, the speciality is chosen, exam date, time of exam, exam centre name and address and other exam day guidelines to be followed

NBE will announce the NEET SS 2023 result for all 32 specialities in online mode. Candidates who have successfully appeared for the entrance exam can download NEET SS 2023 results online. Aspirants need to secure the prescribed NEET SS criteria set by NBE. 

NEET SS 2023 result includes the roll number of candidates, marks obtained out of 400 and NEET SS rank secured in the entrance exam. NEET SS result PDF must be saved for future reference. The result of NEET SS 2023 will be valid for the particular year of admission. Candidates who wish to take admission through NEET SS results in DM/MCh courses will not be able to take admission for the next academic session.

Mode of Counselling: Online

The counselling of NEET SS 2023 will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for admission to 2447 DM and MCh seats. A total of two rounds will be conducted wherein, candidates will be required to register for each round separately. After the NEET SS counselling registration process for each round, aspirants will need to provide their preferences of colleges as well as specializations into which they wish to take admission. On the basis of these preferences, NEET SS rank, seat availability, reservation criteria and other factors, the seat allotment of NEET SS 2023 will be done. 

Once the seats will be allotted, shortlisted candidates will need to report at the respective college for completion of the admission process and document verification. Before reporting at the colleges, aspirants will need to download the NEET SS allotment letter indicating the personal details, category rank, date and time to report at the colleges. In case, if the candidate is not satisfied with the allotted college, he/she can opt an option for withdrawal/refusal and can appear for NEET SS counselling subsequent rounds.
