what will be the selection criteria if there will be no AIIMS and Jipmer exams Neet

Mayank Chowdhary 20th Nov, 2019

To set up common standard across the candidates in the country, was the actual aim of neet being the only common entrance examination. So there will be no change in the selection criteria. Like other governmental and private medical colleges, AIIMS and jipmer these colleges will have their own cutoffs out of 720 in neet.

Thankyou.

what exams should I attend except neet, jipmer and aiims to get admission in a govt. medical college as a medical aspirant.

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019
NEET is the only entrance examination for admission to Medical, Dental, Ayush and Veterinary courses across India. And from 2020, NEET will be the entrance examination for admission ro.all.of AIIMS and JIPMER branches. For you to study abroad, qualifying in NEET is mandatory. So in short, no matter where you want to study, NEET is the only entranxe examination and qualifying in NEET is mandatory. So, if you are planning on appearing for NEET 2020, this might help you:

Is is true that there will be no more AIIMS and JIPMER examination next year 2020 and that they are merged together into one common exam?

Aditya kumar Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019
Hello there!

Greetings!

Yes it's absolutely true , both aiims and Jipmer have been scrapped off and now included in neet as announced by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Ministry of Health and Welfare and now admissions to both aiims and jipmer will be conducted through your performance in neet and thus now neet is the single entrance exam i.e.only gateway to get into medical colleges for admission to MBBS , BDS and Ayush courses i.e. BHMS, BAMS , B.V.Sc & AH etc. So , you need to prepare well for neet. To get more information about neet examination go through our page for which link is provided below :-

my age is 03 Nov 2003 then I am able for aiims or not

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 19th Nov, 2019
Shivani, now AIIMS will not conduct its entrance exam. It will consider NEET score. You need to be 17 years by December 31st of the year of admission for AIIMS. So if you are born on 3rd November 2003, you will turn 17 years by November and so you are eligible for AIIMS admissions as well.

NEET 2020 ELIGIBILITY:

how much should i want to score in class 12 2020 to get merit seat in aiims and i belongs to obc from tamilnadu

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 19th Nov, 2019

There are 2 things to it.

  1. Your 12th marks have no bearing in securing you a MBBS seat.

Your 12th score is useful only for you to be eligible for appearing for NEET. As a Candidate belonging to OBC Category, you should score a minimum aggregate of 40% in Physcis, Chemistry and Biology. Your 12th marks role ends there.

  1. There is no concept of merit seat in AIIMS

Now AIIMS MBBS and JIPMER MBBS have been scrapped in favour of NEET. Now NEET will remain the sole entrance examination for admission to MBBS colleges across India. Adding on that, AIIMS releases its score in the form of percentiles and NEET releases the score in the form of marks. In 2019, the cut off for OBC for AIIMS was 95.29 percentile. It is approximately 684. And cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exams, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. So if you want to get into AIIMS, your target should be nothing less than 700.
