Will AIIMS or JIPMER not happen in 2020? How will be the selection procedure?

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 17th Oct, 2019

Dear Satyam, as of now, everything is speculative. Until NTA or AIIMS release any official notification regarding this, nothing is definitive. But there are 2 possibilities that might happen. AIIMS might prepare its own merit list based on its own eligibility criteria like AFMC and other Institutions and DGHS might conduct the admissions because AIIMS doesn't belong to any particular State. AFMC conducts a TOELR test, psychometric test and a final interview before shortlisting its Candidates. AIIMS might follow this rule. Nothing is certain at this point in time. We need to wait to hear from the concerned authorities.

Is there any change in NEET 2020 exam pattern, question pattern, marking scheme, syllabus etc after cancellation of AIIMS & JIPMER???

Aditya kumar Student Expert 16th Oct, 2019
Hello there!
Greetings!
No , there's no change in the pattern of neet. Neet will have the same pattern, it will still have 3 sections. Physics section will have 45 mcqs , Chemistry will have 45 mcqs as well while biology will have 90 mcqs. Each question will carry 4 marks, 1 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer and 0 marks for questions not attempted. Even if changes are brought in the pattern ,nta will officially notify about it in advance, but chances for change in the pattern is negligible.   So , you don't need to worry, just prepare well. Good luck
thankyou

will NEET exam will be difficult if AIIMS and JIPMER are cancelled if they are kept a common entrance?

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 16th Oct, 2019

Dear Aravind, I shall answer this with an example. Until couple of years back, CMC Vellore had its own entrance examination. They would conduct the exam, shortlist Candidates and then call in for final interview and select them. Even for the sponsored Candidates, the process was the same. Ever Since NEET came into picture, only admissions are conducted through NEET score and rest all has its own process. And AFMC has its own eligibility criteria. The counselling is conducted by DGHS on behalf of MCC and AFMC. The basic consideration is NEET score and the process might change. Here as well, nothing will change. The difficulty of the exam and the theory behind it will not change. Everything will remain the same. AIIMS and JIPMER together add approximately 1700 seats to the already existing 95000 MBBS seats. When the availability of the seats is more, the cut offs will decrease. This is the only factor that will  be directly influenced. The difficulty of the exam totally depends on your preparation.

will aiims proceed their counseling according to neet scores ?or their are high possibility that they will prepare their own merit list 1st i.e retain their individual aggregates? or take a separate test for AR & gk
