NEET examination authority, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) may reschedule July 24, 2016 the exam date of NEET 2016 phase 2. The CBSE may change the proposed date of NEET 2016 in view of large scale logistic arrangements required to accommodate 6-8 lakh canddiates who are likely to appear for the entrance exam.

In its final order on NEET 2016, the Supreme Court on May 9 allowed the examination authority to reschedule the existing proposed date for holding the exam of NEET 2016 phase 2. “It would be open to the respondents to reschedule the date of holding NEET-II, if necessary. To this extent the earlier orders stand modified” the bench said while pronouncing judgement on NEET 2016.

The decision on implementation of NEET 2016 from current academic session was taken by a three-judge SC bench headed by Justice AR Dave after hearing pleas from all affected parties on May 9, 2016.

The examination authority, CBSE, will declare the combined result of both stages of NEET 2016 on August 17. The online counselling for allotment of MBBS and BDS seats under 15% all India seats will be done from August 17 to September 30.

As per the NEET 2016 examination schedule, AIPMT 2016 which was conducted on May 1 will be treated as NEET 2016 phase 1. The second phase of NEET 2016 is schedule for July 24, 2016. The second stage of NEET 2016 can be taken up by all candidates irrespective of their appearance in NEET 2016 Phase1/AIPMT 2016. However, it put a rider that candidates who will take NEET 2016 Phase 2 will have to give up their candidature for NEET 2016 Phase 1/AIPMT 2016. This means examinees who reappear NEET 2, will lose their score of NEET phase 1.
