AIIMS PG July 2016 announced; exam on May 8

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences- AIIMS has announced the examination and result dates for its July 2016 session post graduate entrance test in a notification on the official website. As stated in the release, the AIIMS PG entrance test will be conducted in an online format on May 8, and the result will be announced on May 14, 2016.

The exam notification has only announced the exam and result dates, other important exam related dates have not been announced yet. However it is likely that the application process will start from the last week of February 2016 for the eligible candidates to apply.

According to the exam pattern, AIIMS PG July 2016 will be a computer based test with 200 objective type questions to be answered within 3 hours of duration. Based on the percentile secured by candidates in the entrance exam, the examination authority will prepare a merit list for the qualified candidates.


Although, the conducting body is yet to start the counselling of  AIIMS PG January 2016 session  shortlisted students, but has announced the dates for its July session. The counselling will be conducted from December 10, 2015 for admissions 150 seats of MD/MS programme. The exam for January session was conducted on November 1 and the results were announced on November 6, 2015.


AIIMS, New Delhi conducts AIIMS PG 2016 national level entrance exam for admission to Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) programmes in various courses offered under Clinical and Basic Clinical Sciences.

Hi Seema,

The eligibility criteria for July session is :

  • Completion of MBBS/BDS degree recognised by Medical council Of India before applying for the PG.
  • Completion the rotatory internship period of one year on or before the assigned date as a fulfilment of AIIMS PG eligibility criteria 2020.
  • A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate if belonging to SC/ST - PwBD category, 55% if OBC - PwBD category in all of their MBBS/BDS professional examinations

You cannot make corrections to your Category during the Correction window, Ankit. That is the reason why you are not able to change the Category field. Unfortunately, you may to apply through General Category only. Neverthless, please write to the helpdesk once at:


i have uploaded wrong thumb impression in aiims pg 2020 M. Biotechnology basic registration form, but my status of form is provisionally accepted , how can i correct tgis mistake?

You can make correction in uploaded images from February 20, 2020 - February 24, 2020 till 5pm.And at basic registration stage provisionally accepted status does not mean that your application form is rejected, you need not to be worried about that, Your application status changes after the final registrations which will start from March 9, 2020.You can chekc the status of final registration From April 7, 2020.


I am unable to edit basic registration though it shows image incomplete. It does not show any edit option. Please pave the way. Thanks

Hello Krishan,

You need not to worry as it may occur due to some technical issues.

Try it again after some time, even if it doesn't work then the wise step one could take regarding this case is to drop the mail to the concerning authority, keep the note of the response of the mail to avoid any future discrepancy.
