JIPMER PG 2016 entrance exam for January session was conducted on November 22 in computer based mode at designated centers in 30 cities of India. JIPMER PG 2016 is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to 106 seats in Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) programmes offered under Clinical and Basic Clinical Sciences. Among the given seats 96 are Indian and 10 for Sponsored/Foreign candidates.

The online question booklet of JIPMER PG 2016 had 250 multiple choice questions from Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical phase subjects. As per the marking scheme, candidates scores 4 marks for each correct response and 1 mark to be deducted for each incorrect response.


The result of JIPMER PG 2016 will be declared on November 27, 2015. The result will be declared only for those candidates who will score qualifying marks in the entrance exam.  The result will be based on percentile which will be determined on the basis of the average marks obtained by the first top ten candidates in the JIPMER MD/MS Entrance Examination. The qualifying mark is 50 percentile for Unreserved/ Sponsored/Deputed /Foreign Nationals and 40 percentile for OBC/SC/ST category candidates.


The examination authority, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) will be preparing a merit list of all the qualified candidates based on the percentile. Candidates will be called for JIPMER PG 2016 counselling as per rank in the merit list. The counselling will be conducted in three round including open selection. The first round of JIPMER PG 2016 counselling will be conducted on Decmber16, 2015 followed by second round on January 14 and third and open selection on January 14, 2016.

sir, does number of mbbs passing attempts count in jipmer pg, and in my case i was not given my 3rd year exam because of attendance shortage does that comes under deported, i have 60 percentage of mbbs as aggregate am i qualified for writing jipmer pg exam sir .

Medical aspirants have to fulfill the required JIPMER PG 2020 eligibility criteria if they plan to appear for the January session of MD/MS and MDS courses. Eligibility criteria of JIPMER PG details nationality, qualifying exam, internship, work experience, minimum qualifying marks etc. Candidates who meet the prescribed JIPMER PG eligibility criteria 2020 can fill the application form from September 18.

Hello Aspirant,

As per the lastest orders given by the central government, there will be no AIIMS or JIPMER examinations conducted from 2020, only NEET is considered as the common medical examination conducted throughout the country for the allocation of Medical seats. To get a seat in government college through NEET the candidate has to score a minimum of 900+. please be careful when you are filling a form.  check the notification if there is any correction window available or not. if thats not possible you need to again apply with a new mail id and phone number. and you will not get any fees refund for that as the mistakes is done by you and jipmer exam authority is not responsible for this.
