About DNB PDCET 2024

The National Board of Examination, (NBE) conducts the Diplomate of National Board Post-Diploma Centralised Entrance Test, DNB PDCET 2024 exam for admission to 1,073 seats across 14 specialities in 597 hospitals across India.

As per the latest update, NBEMS has announced the exam date of DNB PDCET 2024. This year, the DNB PDCET will conduct the exam on July 21, 2024. Aspirants who will qualify for the exam will only be eligible to participate in the DNB PDCET counselling 2024 process conducted by NBE. The counselling of DNB PDCET 2024 will be conducted for speciality-specified on merit achieved in the entrance test.

DNB PDCET 2024 Exam Details

DNB-PDCET is an essential pre-requisite entrance examination for granting admission to post-diploma DNB (broad specialities) postgraduate courses. The DNB PDECT 2024 exam will be conducted in computer-based mode in 23 test centres located across the country. A total of 120 multiple-choice questions will be asked from 8 different specialities for the entrance test. As per the marking scheme of DNB PDCET, four marks are awarded for each correct attempt. There is a negative marking of 25%, therefore, one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

DNB PDCET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

All candidates applying for the entrance test must fulfil the DNB PDCET eligibility criteria as laid down by the exam conducting authority. The eligibility criteria of DNB PDCET 2024 reflect the basic pre-requisite conditions which must be met in order to be considered eligible to appear for the examination. The following are the eligibility criteria that the aspirants must fulfil.

  • Candidates who have passed the final exam for a postgraduate diploma from a recognized Indian university.
  • Candidates must possess proof of having passed/passed the postgraduate diploma final examination on or before February 28, 2024.

Filling of the DNB PDCET application form is a six-step process that included registration, filling of the application form, uploading of scanned images, choosing the test city, payment of application fee, and printing of filled application form. All candidates irrespective of their category will be required to pay Rs. 5,000 without taxes- as the application fee for DNB PDCET.

DNB PDCET 2024 Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of DNB PDCET acquaints the candidates with the details of the entrance exams like the duration, the number of questions, types of questions, etc. With the help of the DNB PDCET 2024 exam pattern candidates are required to formulate a solid strategy to crack the entrance test.

NBE conducts the exam in computer-based mode, consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions with a single best answer. For every correct answer, candidates are awarded 4 marks and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The exam is conducted only in English medium. The syllabus of DNB PDCET 2024 is based on the MBBS exit level.

DNB PDCET 2024 Admit Card

The exam conducting authority issues the DNB PDCET admit card 2024 for all the registered candidates. The admit card of DNB PDCET is a crucial document that reveals the designated test centres of the candidates. Candidates are required to carry the following documents to the examination centre in order to gain entry. Print out of DNB PDCET admit card 2024 to the exam centre along with

  • A government-authorized ID proof like Voter ID, Passport, Driving License and PAN card   (in original)
  • A photocopy of permanent or provisional SMC/MCI registration.

Candidates must furnish DNB PDCET 2024 admit card at the time of checking results and counselling thus it is necessary to retain it till the admission process concludes. Candidates are required to paste their latest photograph in the prescribed space on the admit card and report to the examination centre within the prescribed time.

The result of DNB PDCET 2024 is announced in the form of a merit list for 14 different specialities. All candidates have been given a rank in descending order of the marks obtained by them. Such candidates who qualify for the examination will be invited to participate in the online centralised counselling of DNB PDCET 2024 conducted by NBE.

Mode of Counselling: Online

Aspirants who have cleared the entrance test and fulfilled the other eligibility criteria are eligible to participate in DNB PDCET counselling 2024.  The result of DNB PDCET counselling, indicates the roll number, rank, category, speciality, college/hospital name and state. Candidates who are included in the counselling results need to freeze the allotted seat and mandatorily have to download DNB PDCET 2024 allotment letter for round one. Aspirants will have to report at the designated college along with documents for verification and the DNB PDCET admission process. After the completion of the admission process, the authorities will conduct the subsequent rounds of counselling of DNB PDCET 2024.

A total of four rounds of DNB PDCET 2024 counselling are being organised wherein the first three will be online and the last round will be conducted in offline mode at the NBE office, in New Delhi. Those candidates who will not register in the first round of counselling will not be allowed to participate in further rounds. After registration, candidates are required to fill preference of course and college for DNB PDCET admission. Candidates with merit positions will be allowed to fill their option/choices after remitting the required counselling fee of Rs 2500/- Based on the choices given and the availability of seats, admission will be granted to specific specialities.   • Provisional/Degree certificate of MBBS
  • Provisional/Pass certificate issued by Medical Council of India/State Medical Council of India
  • Proof of having passed the Postgraduate diploma final examination on or before November 30, 2019
  • Cast/ Community certificate (if applicable)
  • Special category certificate issued by the competent authority
  • Valid ID proof ( PAN card, Indian passport, Voter ID card, Driving license or Aadhar card)

Dear applicant although it is somewhat difficult for you to get DNB Obstetrics or Gynecology but yes since your are from OBC Category you have moderate possibilities of getting admissions. Though it is just an assumption but based on the rank that you secured you have better possibilities of admission in courses line MD in Pharmacology, MD in Biochemistry, MD in Anatomy, MD in General Medicine etc. But yes cut off can vary and you can get a seat.
