The revised NEET PG 2018 cut offs now require unreserved candidates to secure 35 percentile instead of the previous 50 percentile, while SC/ST/OBC candidates only need to secure 25 percentile and PwD candidates 30 percentile. The reporting for round two counselling of NEET PG 2018 was conducted till April 23, 2018. The new update on the MCC official website reads, "Reporting Round-2 counselling is now over". As per the notice released by MCC on April 23, 2018, the All India Quota seats will not be transferred to the respective State authorities until the next judicial order is released. The second round admissions of NEET PG Counselling were resumed on April 18, 2018, after the dismissal of the petition challenging the same was filed in the High Court of Madras. The authorities released a notification stating, "Round-2 counselling is now resumed. Candidates are advised to proceed with admission procedures.."

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the counselling conducting body of NEET PG 2018 on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), also earlier released the vacant seat matrix for the second round of the counselling of NEET PG 2018. NEET PG 2018 Transfer of All India Quota Seats

As per the Supreme Court order of India in Writ Petition 357/2018, the vacant All India Quota seats will be returned back to the states. The order was declared on May 3, 2018. However, the court has ordered the state authorities to reconduct the second round of counselling as round two should include the vacant All India Quota seats. NEET PG 2018 Cut Offs Revised

The National Board of Examinations, on the basis of directives issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), revised the NEET PG 2018 Cut Off percentile and scores on April 27, 2018. The new revised NEET PG cut off percentiles and cut off scores of NEET PG 2018 allow atleast 18,000 more candidates to apply for 50% AIQ seats counselling as well as for counselling processes conducted by various state bodies. NEET PG Counselling Admission Process Resumed

According to the latest notification released by MCC, the admission process of the second round of counselling has been resumed. The candidates who have got admission after the second round of counselling were required to report at the allotted college between April 15 to April 23, 2018. About NEET PG 2018 Counselling Mop Up Round and Exit Policy

 

As per the notice released by the DGHS on April 4, 2018, only those candidates will be able to participate in the mop up counselling round which will be held for Deemed and Central University admissions who:

  • Have not been allotted a seat in the first two counselling rounds and submitted fresh choices for the vacant seats available through the mop up round.
  • Were allotted seats in the first or second round and continued with the admission process.

Brief Timeline of NEET PG 2018 Counselling

 

On March 29, 2018, the DGHS released the revised provisional result of NEET PG 2018 Counselling Round 1. Candidates could also download their revised seat allotment letters of NEET PG 2018. The link to download the revised provisional counselling result of NEET PG Round 1 has been made available here. The seat allotment letter download link has also been made available. The last date of reporting to the allotted colleges was extended to April 5 from the previous date of April 3. Other important dates of NEET PG Counselling 2018 have also been changed which can be checked by candidates here.

The DGHS had earlier retracted the Round 1 result of NEET PG 2018 counselling on March 28, 2018, a few hours after publishing the same. The seat allotment letters were also rendered null and void. As per the official message displayed on the MCC website, "Due to inadvertent/technical mistake, Result published today (afternoon) may be treated as null and void. Fresh result will be updated soon on the website. All the candidates are advised to be in touch with the MCC website!".

With the declaration of the fresh result of round 1 counselling for NEET PG 2018, candidates can now proceed to report at their allotted colleges by April 5, 2018. Earlier on March 28, 2018, as per the original result notification released by the DGHS on the official website, "Round-1 Allotment result is now available, Candidate can download their allotment letter after 5:00 PM". The DGHS had previously released the revised schedule of NEET PG 2018 counselling as per which the last date to register for the first round of counselling of NEET PG 2018 was extended by two days.

As per new dates, candidates wishing to take admission to seats under All India Quota (AIQ) or in Deemed and Central Universities could register for the first round of NEET PG 2018 counselling till 5.00 PM on March 26, 2018, instead of the earlier set deadline of March 24, 2018. Consequently, the facility for choice filling and locking was also available until March 26, 2018 (5.00 PM) for first counselling.

NEET PG counselling 2018 was then stopped by the DGHS on the basis of an interim order issued by the Madras High Court on April 17, 2018. As per an official update on the MCC website, "In Compliance of Hon'ble Court of Madras W.P. (C) 6169 of 2018, further admission procedure for 2nd Round has been stopped with immediate effect...". The second round of NEET PG 2018 Counselling was previously concluded on April 12, 2018. The provisional result of NEET PG Counselling Round 2 was published by the DGHS on April 14, 2018.

The round two counselling of NEET PG 2018 was started by the DGHS from 4.00 PM onwards on April 11, 2018. The registration and choice filling window for NEET PG Round Two Counselling were open till 5.00 PM on April 12, 2018. As per the official NEET PG Counselling website on April 12, 2018, "Locking of Choices will be available from 2:00 PM. New Registration facility will be closed at 3:00 PM and choice filling facility will be closed at 5:00 PM today for Round-2". The DGHS issued a notice dated April 12, 2018, clarifying how candidates can proceed with choice filling for the second round of NEET PG Counselling and what they should keep in mind before participating in the counselling process.

The DGHS had earlier released three notices on April 10 and April 11, 2018, elaborating on why new FAQs were published on April 9, on why the NEET PG counselling scheme was changed and how candidates could resign from the AIQ seats allotted to them in the first round of NEET PG Counselling. The DGHS first declared the NEET PG Round 1 Counselling Result 2018 on March 28, 2018, before retracting the same a few hours later and releasing a revised result on March 29, 2018 (after 2.30 PM). About NEET PG 2018 Counselling

 

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), is the designated authority for the NEET PG 2018 counselling All India 50% Quota seats and for seats in Deemed and Central Universities. Candidates can register themselves for the NEET PG counselling 2018 and login to their accounts from the links given on this page. DGHS opened the registration process for NEET PG counselling 2018 first round on March 17, 2018. The choice filling of seats was started by the DGHS from Monday, March 19, 2018, onwards. Candidates registering for NEET PG counselling for both All India Quota or Deemed/Central Universities' seats will have to provide their NEET PG 2018 roll number, application number, name, mother's name, date of birth, email ID and mobile number while registering. NBE had earlier released the AIQ rank cards of candidates eligible to participate in NEET PG 2018 AIQ counselling.

The cutoff requirement for AIQ seats in NEET PG 2018 is same as NEET PG 2018 cutoff. The same now stands revised as per a NBE notification issued on April 27, 2018. Candidates (except those who have passed/studied MBBS from J&K) who have scored at least 262 marks (225 for reserved categories and 244 for UR-PH category) are eligible to participate in AIQ counselling of NEET PG 2018. The NEET PG counselling 2018 will be conducted for admissions to medical education institutions of the Central Government, Universities established by Acts of Parliament and Deemed Universities for all postgraduate courses including Diploma, MD and MS courses. The candidates who fail to attend the NEET PG 2018 counselling will not be eligible for admissions. The NEET PG counselling 2018 for AIQ seats is taking place in online mode only over two rounds. The NEET PG 2018 entrance exam was held on January 7, 2018. The result of NEET PG 2018 was declared on January 23, 2018. Only those candidates who have secured an All India Rank (AIR) as per the NEET PG Rank Card released on February 15 and have met the NEET PG 2018 eligibility criteria will be invited to participate in NEET PG 2018 counselling. Changes in NEET PG Counselling 2018

 

MCC has introduced some changes in the counselling process of NEET PG 2018. The candidates will be required to register again if they are participating in the second round of counselling. Revised Minimum qualifying percentile for NEET PG Counselling 2018

 

The NBE revised the 2018 NEET PG cut off percentile on April 27, 2018, reducing it by 15 percentile. Candidates who have secured the revised minimum qualifying percentile in NEET PG 2018 will be considered for the counselling of NEET PG 2018. This does not secure a seat for admission but only serves as the lowest percentile required to qualify for counselling. Highlights of NEET PG Counselling 2018

 

  • The counselling of NEET PG 2018 will be held online. No medical examination will take place at the time of counselling of NEET PG 2018 seats.

  • Candidates are required to participate online for NEET PG 2018 Counselling as per the schedule against their ranks in NEET PG 2018 merit list.

  • The number of candidates will be three times the number of seats for NEET PG Counselling 2018. This implies only one in three candidates participating in the counselling will get a seat.

  • If a candidate is unable to attend the first round of counselling of NEET PG 2018, then s/he can attend the second round. However, if a candidate misses both the sessions, s/he will not be considered irrespective of his/her rank and score in NEET PG merit list 2018.

  • The vacant seats will be offered to the candidate listed next in the merit list. If one does not get a programme of choice in the first round of NEET PG 2018 counselling, one can attend the next session and request an upgrade.

Ques. 1: What information does a candidate require for online registration?

Ans.: The candidates will be asked information which is mentioned on their registration form and admit card. The aspirants have to make sure that they have a copy of registration form and admit card at the time of admissions and these documents will also be necessary after the admissions.

 

Ques. 2: What documents are required at the time of counselling and allotted Medical College?

Ans.: The counselling of NEET PG 2018 will be online so there is no requirement of documents at the time of seat allotment. However, at the time of admission candidates are required to carry the original documents which are mentioned below-

  • NBE issued Admit card.

  • NBE issued Result/Rank Letter

  • Mark Sheets of MBBS 1st, 2nd & 3rd Professional Examinations.

  • MBBS Degree Certificate/Provisional Certificate.

  • Internship Completion Certificate or Certificate from the Head of Institution or College that the internship will be completed by March 31, 2018, of the year of admission.

  • Permanent/ Provisional Registration Certificate issued by MCI/ State Medical. Provision Registration Certificate is acceptable only in cases where a candidate is undergoing internship and is likely to complete the internship on or before March 31, 2018.

  • High School/ Higher Secondary Certificate/ Birth Certificate as proof of date of birth.

  • The candidates are required to take one identification proof (PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport or Aadhar Card) along with them to the college allotted to them during NEET PG 2018 Counselling at the time of admission.

  • The Candidates are advised to bring the following certificates, if they belong to any of these categories

(i) SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority, and should be in English or Hindi language. Sub-caste needs to be clearly mentioned in the certificate.

(ii) OBC certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should be in accordance with the Central List of OBC. The OBC candidates should belong to Non-Creamy Layer.

(iii) Orthopaedic Physical Disability {Physically Handicapped (PH)} Certificate issued from a constituted and authorized Medical Boards. No other PH certificate will be entertained by the authorities.

 

Ques. 3: Who is eligible for the second round of allotment?

Ans- The following groups of candidates will be eligible for second round of counselling of NEET PG 2018-

  • The candidates who registered, however, they were unable to get a seat in the first round of seat allotment.

  • The candidates whose first round of allotted seat was cancelled during the document verification on reporting for admission. In this case, the candidates who have secured the seat under reserved category due to change in category from reserved to unreserved (UR) or PH status from Yes to No will come, considering that the candidates are eligible in the second round of seat allotment with the changed category.

  • Candidates who have reported or joined at the allotted institute during the joining period of the first round of allotment and submitted willingness for participating in the second round of NEET PG 2018 counselling up-gradation as Yes.

 

Ques. 4: Who is not eligible for the second round of allotment?

Ans.:  The following candidates will not be eligible for the second round of counselling of NEET PG 2018-

  • The candidates who were unable to report at the allotted institute after seat allotment in the first round.

  • Reported & Withdrawn (Resigned) from NEET PG 2018 counselling at allotted Institute.

  • The candidates who changed their category after the first round of seat allotment.

  • Candidates who have not opted for up-gradation.

 

Ques. 5: What is mock counselling (indicative seat allotment result)?

Ans.: Mock counselling/indicative seat allotment has been cancelled for this year. Indicative seat allotment is the seat available for allotment to a candidate at the time of processing of data by computer from choices submitted by the particular candidate. The mock counselling will aid candidates in understanding which choices are more appropriate for them. The indicative seat will also help candidates to modify, add or delete choices. Although, the indicative seat allotted shown on these dates does not guarantee that the same seat will be allotted finally (during the first round).

The counselling for AIQ, Central Universities and Deemed Universities will be conducted at the same time. The same procedure is followed for AIQ, Deemed Universities and Central Universities. FAQS for Deemed and Central Universities Counselling 2018

The candidates can check below the procedure followed by MCC for Deemed and Central Universities Counselling along with the FAQs to know all about the counselling session.

 

NEET PG 2018 will offer admissions to All India 50% Quota seats, Deemed and Central University seats and State quota seats. The authority responsible for counselling of NEET PG 2018, All India 50% Quota will be Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. State quota seats include all Medical Institutions in a State, institutions established by State Government, and Universities established by Act of State/Union Territory Legislature, Municipal Bodies Trust, Society, Company or Minority Institutions. The State Government or authority designated by the State Government will be responsible for State quota seats of NEET PG 2018 counselling.
