Plan, Prepare & Make the Best Career Choices
Doctors command great respect from everyone as they have the knowledge and skills to help people recover from ailments and lead normal lives. There is a great demand for qualified doctors in a country like India, where the health infrastructure is still in developing stages, especially in rural areas. According to a report submitted by the Government of India, in the year 2019, there were approximately 11.57 lakhs allopathic doctors and 7.87 lakhs homoeopathic and ayurvedic doctors in India. Even though there are so many doctors available in India, there is still a great demand for more doctors as the population of the country is increasing steadily. As of now, a single doctor is available to over 1,457 people. As per the country's current population of appx. 1.35 billion, this ratio is lower than the World Health Organisation norm of 1:1000.
