can i do embrology at aiims afer having bechlor degree in MLT

Syed Ali 1st Jan, 2025

Yes, it is possible to pursue a career in embryology at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) after completing a bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT). However, there are a few things you should consider:

1. Eligibility for Embryology-related Programs :

  • AIIMS Programs : AIIMS offers various postgraduate programs related to medical science, including courses in fields like Reproductive Biology and Clinical Embryology . However, eligibility criteria for these programs may vary.
  • Postgraduate Courses : If you want to specialize in embryology after completing your bachelor's degree, you can look into programs like:
    • M.Sc. in Clinical Embryology or M.Sc. in Reproductive Biology , which might be offered by some universities, including AIIMS.
  • Eligibility : Generally, AIIMS and other medical institutes may allow candidates with a background in biology, biotechnology, MLT, or related fields to apply for these programs, but you should verify specific eligibility criteria for each program.

2. Entrance Exam :

  • To pursue an M.Sc. or postgraduate program in embryology at AIIMS, you would likely have to appear for their entrance exam (if applicable). For AIIMS, this would typically be the AIIMS Postgraduate Entrance Exam .
  • Preparation : You will need to prepare for the entrance exam, which usually includes subjects related to biology, biotechnology, and medical sciences.

3. Alternatives :

  • Diploma/Certificate Programs : If you're looking for a shorter route or supplementary qualification in embryology, you might consider specialized diploma or certification programs in clinical embryology.
  • Other Institutes : Several private medical colleges and universities in India also offer courses in embryology. You can explore options like:
    • National Institute of Reproductive Health
    • International Institute of Clinical Embryology
    • Manipal University (M.Sc. in Clinical Embryology)
    • Institute of Clinical Embryology (Various certification and diploma programs)

4. Experience :

  • Relevant Experience : Although a bachelor's degree in MLT provides a foundation, you may want to gain additional experience or undergo internship training in reproductive biology or clinical embryology to increase your chances of getting admitted to these specialized programs.

Conclusion:

After your bachelor's in MLT, you may be eligible for an M.Sc. in Clinical Embryology or a related field, including programs offered by AIIMS. However, you must verify the eligibility criteria for AIIMS and prepare for the entrance exam. Additionally, you can explore other options, such as diploma courses or programs offered by different institutes specializing in embryology.

how many holidays given by aiims dehli for mbbs student in diwali, holi, summer and winter vaccation

Prachi Kumari 11th Dec, 2024

Hello,

The number of holidays provided by AIIMS Delhi for MBBS students during Diwali , Holi , summer , and winter vacations can vary each year, depending on the academic calendar and clinical responsibilities. Here is a general idea based on past norms:

Diwali and Holi

  • Diwali : Typically, MBBS students may get a break of 2-3 days , depending on whether the festival coincides with other holidays or weekends.
  • Holi : Usually, 1-2 days of holidays are provided.

Summer Vacation

  • The summer vacation duration is shorter compared to other universities because of the rigorous medical curriculum. It is usually around 2-3 weeks for pre-clinical and paraclinical years (1st and 2nd year).
  • During the clinical years (3rd year onwards), summer vacations might be reduced further due to clinical postings and ward duties.

Winter Vacation

  • Winter vacations are typically around 7-10 days , but this can vary depending on the academic year and clinical postings.

Important Notes

  • Clinical Postings : For students in their clinical years, the schedule might be tighter, with fewer holidays, as ward duties and patient care take precedence.
  • Academic Calendar : The exact dates and duration are specified in the annual academic calendar released by the AIIMS administration.
  • Preparation Leaves : Before exams, MBBS students are often granted preparation leave, which might coincide with or extend these vacation periods.

Hope it helps !

What are the closing ranks for st category for ophthalmology seat in all aiims institutes?

Prachi Kumari 11th Dec, 2024

Hello,

The closing ranks for ST category seats in ophthalmology at AIIMS institutions, based on recent years' trends from INI-CET (Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test), vary across different campuses. Here are some insights:

  1. AIIMS Delhi : Known for the highest demand, closing ranks for ST candidates in ophthalmology typically fall within the top few thousand ranks in INI-CET exams, depending on seat availability.

  2. AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Bhopal : Closing ranks for MS Ophthalmology have hovered around 564 to 584 in recent years for general candidates, with ST category candidates receiving relaxation and often securing seats at lower ranks

  3. AIIMS Jodhpur : Similar trends have been observed, with competitive ranks for ST candidates in specialties like ophthalmology being slightly higher than other newer AIIMS.

The exact closing ranks for 2023 or 2022 were not fully disclosed in the sources, but the general trend indicates significant relaxation for ST candidates compared to general and OBC categories.

Hope it helps !

How much mark need in aiims bsc nursing entrance exam (honours) to get addmission at AIIMS kalyani in 2025 from OBC AND UR catalogue?

Deepti Singh 7th Dec, 2024

Hello,

The marks needed to get admitted to AIIMS B.Sc. Nursing (Hons) at AIIMS Kalyani or any other AIIMS vary every year, which is based on the exam's difficulty level, number of candidates, and seat availability in each category. Based on previous trends, though:

  • OBC Category: Competitive score is around 55-60% in the entrance exam. This means that 95-105 marks out of 150 in a moderately difficult exam.
  • UR Category: The cutoff would be around 60-65% or 100-110 marks to get in.

These are trend-based estimates; the cut-off in 2025 might vary. One has to do well and target scores above average. Let me know if you need help preparing!
