The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET UG 2025 on May 4, 2025. The authority has closed the correction window for NEET 2025 on March 11. Candidates could make necessary correction to their NEET application form 2025 through the NEET correction window 2025. The authority will now release the NEET city intimation slip 2025 by April 26, 2025.
The NTA has changed the NEET exam pattern 2025 by removing section B and an additional time of 20 minutes. As per the updated exam pattern of NEET 2025, 180 questions will be asked that need to be answered in 3 hours. There will be no optional questions in NEET 2025. On January 16, the authority released the NEET 2025 exam mode notice at nta.ac.in. As per the official notification, NEET 2025 will remain a pen and paper-based mode exam. NTA releases the information bulletin of NEET 2025 mentioning the eligibility criteria, important dates, application procedure, list of exam centres and many other important details. The NEET 2025 information bulletin is released both in Hindi and English language.
Eligible candidates are required to fill NEET application form in online mode. The authority will issue the NEET admit cards for the successfully registered candidates. The authority will release the NEET answer key a few days after the conclusion of the exam. Candidates will be allowed to challenge the answer key by paying Rs 200 per answer. Through the NEET exam 2025, admission will be granted to over 1 lakh MBBS seats in India, 27,618 BDS seats, 52,720 AYUSH seats, 603 BVSc & AH seats, along with 1,899 AIIMS seats and 249 JIPMER seats, distributed across 612 medical and 315 dental colleges. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET counselling 2025 based on NEET 2025 scores for 15% of all AIQ seats in government colleges and 100% for deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS, AIIMS, and JIPMER. The state counselling authorities conduct counselling for the remaining 85% of state quota seats.
The NEET AIQ counselling process comprises four rounds: rounds 1, 2, 3, and stray vacancy round. A seat gets allocated according to the choices selected by applicants, the rank in the NEET 2025, and the availability of seats and reservations. NEET UG 2025 counselling process includes registering, choosing courses, and paying the registration fee.
Applicants who qualify as part of the NEET 2025 All India Quota, are eligible to participate in the counselling process. The vacant seats after round two in NEET 2025 counselling in AIQ will be returned to the respective states.

Maharashtra provides a 'Hilly Area Reservation' for medical admissions, mainly for MBBS courses. To qualify, candidates must have studied in schools located in hilly areas as per their parents' domicile.
However, for NEET PG (MDS) , there is no specific mention of hilly area reservation.
