About Goa Medical College, Panaji

Goa Medical College (GMC), Panaji was established in 1842. It is Asia’s oldest medical college. GMC Panaji is an affiliated college of Goa University, Taleigao Plateau, Goa. The college was renamed as Goa Medical College in 1963. The college provides courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. GMC Panaji courses cover MBBS, B.Sc, BPT, BOT and B.Optom programmes at the UG level, MD, MS and PGD programmes in various specialisations at the PG level and an M.Ch programme in Neurosurgery at the doctoral level.

Candidates seeking admission to the college must satisfy the basic eligibility criteria. GMC Panaji admissions are done on the basis of rank in NEET, NEET-PG and NEET-SS examinations at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels respectively. The college is located in NH-17, Bambolim in the Panaji district of Goa state. The college is well-connected through all means of transport. The nearest airport to GMC Panaji is the Goa International Airport which is located at a distance of around 22 km. Students can hire a cab or auto and reach the college campus from the airport. The nearest railway station is the Dabolim Station which is about 8 km away from the Goa Medical College, Panaji. Panjim Bus Stand is the nearest bus stand to the college at a distance of about 11 km.

College Infrastructure

Hostels need working upon. And the college canteen needs to be upgraded. The classrooms are clean and well maintained but the library needs renovation since some of the wall mounted fans don't work. Good college otherwise.

College Infrastructure

College infrastructure is good and convenient. The college have all the necessary infrastructure and facilities needed. All the classrooms are well organised and clean. All the laboratories are maintained and equipped properly.

Congratulations for your marks ! For NEET admission the cutoff is generally around the below mentioned scheme.

General50720-147

Physically Handicapped - 146-129

SC/ST/OBC - 146-113

SC/ST/OBC Physically hadicapped -128-113

As you have mentioned that you belong to sc category and have scored 300, the possibility to get a government college under All India quota is difficult however you can try under the state quota of telengana (the cutoff is a bit higher in state quota) . You can also try in deeemed universities with this score.

Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur offers admissions to various diploma, UG, PG, and doctoral programs. The college has a total of 34 courses.

Admission Procedure:

Candidates seeking admission to the M.B.B.S programme need to appear and qualify for the NEET (UG) exam.
Based on the qualifying marks achieved by candidates in NEET (UG), they will have to register themselves for NEET (UG) counselling on the official website of NEET.
Candidates will register themselves for counselling of NEET (UG) on the official website of NEET along with all required documents and payment of fees.
Candidates need to select Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur as their first preference while doing the choice locking in the NEET UG counselling.
Candidates will get admission to the M.B.B.S programme based on NEET (UG) counselling, choice filling, choice locking, document verification, and merit and fee payment.

Is there bus facility provided by GMC for students who don't stay in hostel???

So with regard to your query, No, there is no bus facility provided by the Goa Medical College of Panaji. It only provides the hostel facilities. However, you can go to the college through the bus stop which is just nearby the college, via Panaji.
