NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Medical graduates who wish to pursue their postgraduate courses are required to fulfil NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria. National Board of Education (NBE) will release its information brochure in the first week of November and all the details like eligibility criteria, important dates, guidelines, marking scheme, exam pattern etc.will be explained in it. The eligibility criteria for NEET PG includes all important criterias that candidates should fulfil, like ade, qualification, nationality, domicile, etc.

NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria

In its information brochure NBE details all the requirements to fulfil the eligibility criteria of NEET PG. The requirements are listed separately for All India Quota (AIQ) 50% seats, Foreing Medical Graduates (FMG), Foreign Nationals (FN) and also common requirements for all.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Overall

The points given below mention NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria which is common for all candidates irrespective of category, nationality, domicile, etc.

  • Qualification - Medical graduates are required to possess Indian Medical Council Act 1956 recognised MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate

  • Certificate of Registration - Candidates are required to mandatorily have permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification which is to be issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC)

  • Internship - As per the eligibility criteria of NEET PG candidate must complete their one year internship on or before March 31, 2020

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 - AIQ 50% seats

Mentioned-below is the criteria that has to be fulfilled by candidates in order to be eligible for AIQ 50% seats.

  1. In accordance with NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria, medical graduates belonging from the state of Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for AIQ 50% seats.

  2. Only those candidates from J&K who have been nominated by the Government of India, under central pool seats, for pursuing MBBS from medical colleges in Jammu & Kashmir will be eligible for AIQ 50% seats. These candidates have to submit a duly signed affidavit which declare that they have been nominated by the Government of India under the above-mentioned category. This affidavit has to be sent to the following address along with a printout of acknowledgement of NEET PG 2020 application form latest by November 30, 2019 in order to fulfil the eligibility criteria of NEET PG

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Foreign Medical Graduates

NBE has declared the below-mentioned NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria for those Indian citizens or Overseas citizens who have pursued their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical colleges that are outside India territory.

  • FMG candidates have to mandatorily pass NBE conducted Forieng Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) (Screening Test).

  • Medical graduates from foreign must be registered with MCI/SMC

  • The internship requirement for FMG candidates, as per eligibility criteria of NEET PG, is the same as mentioned above for overall candidates

  • On the day of conduction of NEET PG 2020, FMG candidates are required to bring along their FMGE Pass Certificate issued by NBE

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Foreign Nationals

Foreing nationals have to fulfil the below-mentioned NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria if they wish to appear for the entrance examination

  • Since the year 2019 it is no more mandatory for Foreign Nationals to be registered with MCI while writing NEET PG 2020

  • MCI nay provide temporary registration to candidates, in case they pay the registration fee. According to eligibility criteria of NEET PG, this registration will be provided only for the PostGraduate course duration and will be limited to the medical college/institution in which the candidate has taken admission exclusively for pursuance of postgraduate studies

  • For temporary registration it is mandatory that the Foreign Nationals be registered with the competent registering authority of their country

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Highlights

Apart from the criteria for eligibility mentioned above there are some points that medical graduates need to know to avoid cancellation of candidature. These important points are mentioned-below

  • Those medical graduates who are found to be ineligible at any stage of the entrance exam or NEET PG counselling 2020 will get their candidature cancelled then and there. If the candidate’s ineligibility comes to the notice of the authorities after the selection of candidates the result of such candidate shall be cancelled

  • The one year internship must be completed in the stipulated time as request for extension in time period will not be entertained by the authorities under any circumstances

  • Medical graduates are not allowed to submit NEET PG application form 2020 multiple times for the given year

As per NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria,

candidate must have provisional or permanent medical registration certificate issued by MCI or a State Medical Council. that is to be carried on the day of the exam and during admission.


So, having a provisional certificate is also applicable.


In addition to the above criteria, candidates needs to have a valid MBBS degree from an institution recognized by MCI and have a degree or provisional certificate.Also, it's mandatory to have completed rotatory internship on or before 31st March, 2020.

If you are asking about neet pg, then photo requirements for neet pg application form is that"-
  • it should be a color one with white background only and at least 75% coverage of the face and head of the candidate, it should be passport-size, and not older than 6 months,
  • should be devoid of any border and the facial features and should be clearly visible,recently clicked,
  • Should be having the name of candidate ,date of capturing the photograph  imprinted at the bottom of the photo,
  • should be of 3.5*4.5 cm (width*height) in dimension and
  • the file size not more than 80 KB,printed on a high-quality paper with a resolution of at least 600 dp.

The NEET PG 2020 eligibility criteria for aspirants appearing in the postgraduate medical examination has been listed below.

Candidates must possess a valid MBBS degree from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI), and have an MBBS degree or provisional certificate to that effect.
Completion of the rotatory internship on or before March 31, 2020.
Provisional or permanent medical registration certificate issued by MCI or a State Medical Council. This must be carried on the day of the exam and during admission.
Candidates who have studied/qualified MBBS from Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible for All India 50% Quota seats. Only candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (under central pool seats) to study MBBS from Medical Colleges in Jammu & Kashmir shall be eligible for All India 50% quota seats. Such candidates must submit a duly signed affidavit declaring this.

Dear Sreenivasan, NBE hasn't released NEET PG official notification and schedule yet. As of now, all we have is a tentative schedule. The official notification will be released tentatively during the 1st or 2nd weeks of November. To be eligible for NEET PG, you should be able to complete your 1 year Mandatory Internship ateast by March 31st,  2020.
