The NTA conducted the NEET re-exam on June 23. Out of 1563 candidates, only 813 students appeared for the NEET re-exam. These 1563 candidates were compensated for the loss of time by NEET grace marks which sparked a row over this decision. Amid the protest and allegations of the NEET 2024 scam, NTA has decided to take the NEET re-exam on June 23. These 1563 candidates were given the choice to either give a NEET re-exam or their revised scorecards without the grace marks will be considered for the counselling process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET counselling based on NEET 2024 scores for 15% of all AIQ seats in government colleges and 100% for deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS, AIIMS, and JIPMER. The state counselling authorities conduct counselling for the remaining 85% of state quota seats.
