Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research MBBS Entrance Exam
Dear Sona
For JIPMER, I am sorry to sat that the chances are nil because as per 2018's cut off rank details, the opening and closing rank for OBC was 13 - 51 for Puducherry and 64 - 240 for Karaikal campuses.
For getting into JIPMER, one(OBC) should aim for category rank atleast under 70.
Note: the merit list doesn't remain same every year and the above mentioned detailed may not be followed this year too.
GOOD LUCK.
Dear Kaleeswari
Your name might be not included in recent shorlisted list of (your) category. However, you could check your name in the overall merit list or you can see/download rank letter/result which will be available from 11AM onwards of 12/06/2019 (Wednesday) by visiting the official website of JIPMER (www.jipmer.edu.in).
And 49.95 percentile is not good enough to get a seat in any of JIPMER colleges as only 200 seats are available and competition is very much tough.
Kindly regularly visit the official website of JIPMER for more updates.
Hi Aarzoo,
I am sorry to inform you that you will not be able to obtain a seat in JIPMER with this percentile in the entrance examination. JIPMER is a highly reputed institute and offers limited number of seats every year and number of students competing for that seats is very high and the level of competition is also high. You need to score above 90% at least to increase your possibility of obtaining a seat there.
You can prepare well and appear next year to achieve more marks and increase your possibility

All the best
Dear Aditya
Only 9 seats (JIPMER Puducherry 7, JIPMER Karaikal 2) for ST candidates are reserved which means only 9 students will get admission in either of the colleges. And according to the notice of shortlisted ST students, the student ranking between 1-90 are eligible for 1st round of counselling which doesn't guarantees you a seat.
However, in 2018, the opening rank and closing rank for ST was 3 and 14(Puducherry), 7 and 74(Karaikal) respectively.
Concluding the information and following the 2018's pattern(can be changed this year), there might be a chance for you and the clearance of getting a seat will be on after attending the 1st counselling.
Good luck for 1st round.

Hello Sufyan,
The cutoff marks changes every year depending on various factors e.g. difficulty of exams, the total no. of students appeared, etc. Last year the cutoff marks for general category students was 161, 153 for OBC, 142 for SC and 123 and 144 for ST and NRI candidates respectively. So as per last years cutoff you need to score a minimum marks around these numbers to be eligible for counselling.
Hope this helps. Good luck!
Hello there.
As per the latest government rules, regulations, and guidelines it is impossible to get a medical seat of any related medical principle be it MBBS, BDS, BAMS or BMHs without writing NEET, AIIMS or JIPMER.
To get admission even in private colleges one will have to write the NEET examinations no matter what.
To prepare for Indian Medical entrance examination mentioned above the following books could be helpful.
Biology : NCERT, MTG NCERT at your fingertips
Chemistry: NCERT, NCERT exemplar, Vibrant Academy's Physical Chemistry by N Awasthy, Arihant Organic Chemistry by MS Chouhan
Physics: NCERT, NCERT exemplar, HC Verma, Arihant's Objective Physics by DC Pandey.
In all these examinations, the syllabus is usually very similar comprising of Class XI and Class XII studies of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Hope this helps.
All the best.
Overall 60%aggregate marks is required in PCB under JIPMER.
Students dont require more than 60% marks individually in PCB subjects.
Which means If each exam os of 100marks then out of total 300 marks minimum 180 marks is must.
Dear Hyna,
You are eligible to appear for NEET 2019 exams if you have not exceeded the age limit for the same.
