sir I am a student of class 12th (PCB). I am interested in optometry. I want to know the procedure to be an optometrist after 12th. Im giving boards this year and I need to know what to do after 12th to be an eye doctor without NEET.
Hi
I am extremely sorry to tell you dear but if you want to become an eye doctor i. e ophthalmologist, then you cannot become it without qualifying Neet examination.
This is because,
To become an ophthalmologist need to do MD or Ms ophthalmology and for that you need to first be an MBBS graduate and admission in MBBS is through Neet examination . Thus, there is no way without qualifying Neet.
Here's a brief of how you can become an ophthalmologist :-
* For becoming a ophthalmologist , you need to become a doctor first and for that you need to do MBBS
*Admission in Mbbs is through NEET examination, So, along with your 10+2 keep preparing for Neet examination
* Pass your 12th with at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB ( in theory +practical) in 12th examination if you belong to general category , or at least 45% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to ph category or at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to Obc/ Sc /st to be eligible for neet.
*Appear for Neet examination and qualify it
*Then attend counselling and then on the basis of marks or Rank obtained by you in NEET examination you will get a seat for MBBS in a medical college .
* After the completion of MBBS, you need to appear for PG entrance examination, currently, some of the PG entrance examinations include:-
-) Neet PG ,
-) AIIMS PG
-)PGIMER
-)JIPMER PG.
You can know about different PG entrance examination for MS at
https://www.careers360.com/courses/ms-master-of-surgery
* if you clear PG entrance examination then to become an ophthalmologist, on the basis of ranke obtained by you in the examination you can get a seat in MD/MS ophthalmology.
* Pursue your MD/MS ophthalmology. After the completion of which you can practice as an opthalmologist.
If you have any other doubt then you can always reach us to clear them :) we are always available to help you out and guide you

differentiate the difficult level of neet, jee mains, jee advance
Hi
JEE and NEET are two completely different examinations, so comparing them is quite difficult.
Jee main is gateway to engineering colleges including NITs, IIITs, CFTIs while NEET is the gateway to medical colleges for MBBS, BDS, ayush courses and veterinary i.e BVSc . In jee main, questions are asked from physics, chemistry and maths while in NEET questions are asked from physics, chemistry and Biology.
But yes,
As far as difficulty level of the question is concerned JEE MAIN is TOUGHER than neet.
This is because,
In jee main both breadth and depth of questions is covered, I mean you will see variety of questions and many tricky ones are asked as well , but in neet only breadth or variety of questions are there but these are generally formula based, question of very high difficulty level is not asked and overall paper in general remains easy to moderate.
In terms of competition,
neet is tougher because, number of seats in government medical colleges is handful when considered to Engineering colleges. And when someone doesn't get a seat in a govt medical college then generally he has no other options as fee of private medical colleges is insanely high and it can be up to around 1 crore unlike engineering where even if you don't perform very well, you still have choice of decent private colleges at affordable fee.
Coming to JEE advanced, it is conducted by IITs.
JEE advanced is the toughest when it comes to level of difficulty.
This is because,
In JEE advanced questions single concept questions are rarely asked ,questions are a mix of two or more concepts which makes them very tricky and to solve them you need to have deep understanding of the concepts. Also in JEE advanced you have MCQs having more than one correct options and its paper pattern keeps changing a bit every year which makes it challenging
So, in Short, in terms of level of difficulty:-
JEE ADVANCED > JEE MAIN > NEET
I hope that you find this helpful
