  • To pursue PG medical courses, candidates must clear NEET PG exam, while for admission in AIIMS, Bhopal, the admission will be granted through INI CET.

  • He/She must also hold a provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC).

Admission Process for Medical Colleges in MP for MBBS, AYUSH and PG courses

  • Admission to MBBS and AYUSH - For MP UG medical admissions, candidates must appear and qualify for NEET and fulfil the eligibility criteria. 

  • Admission to PG courses - Graduates must meet the eligibility standards and clear NEET PG to get a seat into Madhya Pradesh PG medical admission. While, the seats in AIIMS, Bhopal are granted on the grounds of INI CET.

  • Admission to DM course - Only NEET SS qualified graduates can apply for courses such as DM.

Conducting authorities for admission in MBBS, AYUSH and PG courses

Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh conducts admission to the MP MBBS and AYUSH admissions for state quota seats. While the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) grants admission to AIQ seats. It must be noted that 15% MBBS seats in the list of government medical colleges in MP are reserved under AIQ. While the remaining 85% are reserved under the state quota. For admission to 85% state quota seats, students must fulfill the NEET domicile criteria for Madhya Pradesh.

Likewise, for PG medical admissions, 50% seats in the best medical colleges in MP are reserved under AIQ and the rest 50% under state quota. It is to be noted that in the admission to state quota seats, candidates should be a domicile of the state.

  • Once the counselling commences, candidates have to register at the MCC website for admission to AIQ seats in MBBS course - mcc.nic.in and at accc.gov.in for AYUSH courses.

  • On the other hand, to apply for state quota admission in the list of medical colleges in MP, students have to fill the online application form at the official website of DME.

  • Afterwards, the authorities will release the merit list mentioning the names of eligible students for admission to top medical colleges in MP at the official website. 

  • Shortlisted aspirants have to submit their choices of courses and colleges during online counselling.

Entrance Exams For Top Medical Colleges in MP

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts NEET once every year in a pen-paper mode across the country. As per the exam pattern of NEET, a total of 180 multiple choice questions are asked from the NEET syllabus, which includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from class 11 and 12.  

NEET PG is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) for admissions in top medical colleges in MP for PG medical courses such as MD and MS. The test contains questions from the MBBS course curriculum. The NEET PG exam pattern states that aspirants have to answer 200 objective questions in 3 hours. 

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Specialty, or NEET SS is also conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). The entrance exam is conducted for admission to Doctorate of Medicine (DM) and Master of Chirurgie (MCh) seats. As per the NEET SS exam pattern, 100 multiple questions are asked in the Computer Based Test (CBT). 

AIIMS, New Delhi is the competent authority to conduct INI CET for admission to Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS), Doctorate of Medicine (DM), and Master of Chirurgiae (MCh) courses. For MP, admission through INI CET will be granted in AIIMS, Raipur college only.
