AIIMS BSc Nursing entrance exam follows a structured pattern to assess a candidate’s knowledge and skills. As per the paper pattern of AIIMS BSc (Hons.) Nursing exam questions are asked from four subjects namely, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge, with each subject carrying specific marks. The exam is conducted in online mode and is 120 minutes long.
Candidates have to answer multiple-choice questions either in English or Hindi. AIIMS BSc Nursing total marks for the exam are 100, distributed as 30 marks for the PCB section and 10 marks for the General Knowledge section. Correct answers are awarded +1 mark while incorrect ones incur a penalty of -1/3 mark.
As per the exam pattern of AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-Basic), the test is divided into two stages consisting of stage I as a written test and stage II as a personal interview. Candidates who aspire to join the program need to successfully clear stage 1. Qualified candidates can proceed to the next stage of personal assessment.
Qualifying in both the written exam and the personal assessment/ interview is mandatory for securing admission into the AIIMS BSc Nursing (Post-Basic) program. This two-stage process ensures that candidates not only possess the necessary academic knowledge but also have the interpersonal skills and aptitude required for a career in nursing.
In stage I, candidates are required to participate in a written examination of 90 minutes duration. The test comprises a single paper containing 70 multiple-choice questions. These questions cover topics which include fundamentals of Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing (including Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology), Obstetrics Nursing and Midwifery, Pediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing and Professional Trends in Nursing.
Candidates, based on their merit ranking in Stage I will be selected for Personal Assessment by a Selection Committee. Three times the number of available seats will be invited for this assessment. If there is a shortage of SC/ST candidates, candidates from both categories will be invited. If candidates from SC/ST/OBC (NCL) categories are unavailable, the number of General category candidates for Personal Assessment will be increased proportionately. Marks for the personal assessment will be out of 30 and during this assessment, various factors will be taken into consideration.

Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) is an entrance test to recruit nursing officers in AIIMS all over the country. NORCET is divided into 2 sets of examination. One is Prelims, where a candidate have to answer 100 questions in 90 minutes. Remember that these questions will be nursing (80 Questions) and non-nursing (20 Questions) related. Non- nursing questions would be on General Awareness, Aptitude questions and current affairs as well.
Candidates clearing the prelim stage, will move forward to appear in Main Exam, which will also have 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), divided into 5 sections like Prelim exam. In Main exam, all the question will be nursing related to test you and there is negative marking- one-third marks deduction on a wrong answer.
