For a majority of candidates, preparation of Physics is the most daunting challenge. However, following a proper strategy to crack AIIMS MBBS 2020 can help candidates overcome this challenge. For physics, candidates must strike a balance between mugging up concepts and the application of such concepts. Since there are so many formulas to be learnt, candidates can try making a formula copy and revise that formula copy on a regular basis. This way, all formulas are kept in a handy manner for easy revision.
In AIIMS 2020 entrance test, candidates are provided with a virtual calculator thus it is not important to know complex calculations. Focusing on the application of the formulas is more important in order to crack AIIMS MBBS 2020.
The chemistry section is divided into three subsections of physical chemistry, organic and inorganic chemistry. A lot of the questions are picked from the NCERT thus it should be thoroughly read. Surendra Babu Vikarama from Chaitanya coaching institute advises,” 35 out of the total of 45 questions asked are direct and single concept questions. Each question carries 4 marks and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Surendra Vikrama suggests “Keeping this in mind, candidates must attempt the strongest concepts first and leave the ones that will take a longer time for last.” “Regular and diligent practice is required in physical and organic chemistry,” he adds.
A thorough written practice of each and every reaction can prove beneficial for the Chemistry part. Theoretical portions are often tagged in the numerical questions, therefore, learning both numerical and theoretical questions is important.
AIIMS MBBS is a medical entrance exam thus biology is an important aspect of it. Comparatively, aspirants find the biology section easier and mistakenly take it for granted. For Biology, NCERT textbooks are the most important source which includes the exemplars, images, tables from which the questions are directly picked. It is important to revise NCERT before jumping on to other study material for preparation of Biology section. Candidates can refer to Biology Vol. 1 and 2 by Trueman for an in-depth study.
Apart from the science subjects, candidates are also required to attempt 10 questions each based on logical reasoning with reason and assertion and English language. Reading newspapers and online english mock tests can help you improve command over English. For the logical reasoning section candidates can refer to popular reference material by Aim4aiims and other GK books by Ajay Mohan and General Knowledge, Aptitude and Logical Thinking for AIIMS by Sunil Nain. Akshat Kaushik AIIMS MBBS 2019, AIR 3: For AIIMS, I expected physics to be difficult so I decided to begin with Biology and Chemistry. I didn't hesitate to mark a question for review and hence marked at least 40-50 questions out of 200 for review and solved most of them later. I gave a hefty 2 hours to physics but only when I knew I could afford that without missing out on question from other subjects.Arunangshu Bhattacharyya, AIIMS MBBS 2019, AIR 6: I started with biology MCQ section followed by assertion-reason type questions of all subjects, chemistry MCQs and then at last physics MCQs. My target was to have sufficient time for the physics MCQs as they are the rank deciders because of their high difficulty. By then, I had just given NEET so I was able to deal with pressure better. Still, throughout the paper, I was running against time which raised anxiety levels. I tried curbing them by remembering the fact that if a question is hard for me, it is for everyone. This thought helps me in keeping my cool.
