Eligibility criteria for NEET application form 2026

Before filling out the NEET application form, aspirants must check the eligibility criteria set as per the qualification codes of NEET exam. Aspirants can check the NEET 2026 eligibility criteria from below.

Step 1 - NEET registration 2026

To fill the NEET application form 2026, candidates are required to click on 'fill application form'. On the new page, click on 'NTA NEET registration 2026 link' which leads to the instructions page which must be read carefully.

During NEET-UG registration process, candidates have to fill the below mentioned details. A password must also be created as per the given specifications which is used for all future login. A NEET application number is generated after registration for NEET NTA 2026. This user ID is used to login to NEET form fill up 2026.

Choose a password

In the next step, candidates have to choose a password, retype the same, enter a security question, and choose the answer. Candidates are advised to keep the security question and answer safe as this may be required to retrieve the password in case a candidate forgets it. To complete the NEET 2026 registration, candidates must verify the above details and submit them.

Generation of provisional application number

After the successful registration for NEET, the provisional application number is displayed. This must be noted down as it is the NEET 2026 login ID for all future logins.

Particular checklist to be verified

Candidates need to verify all the details by clicking on each section. Aspirants are not allowed to proceed without ticking on the particulars. Aspirants are advised to verify all the details carefully, as after submission, changes are not allowed.

Step 2: Filling up the NEET exam form

Once the registration process is completed, candidates have to click on 'Complete Application Form' as shown in the image below. Aspirants have to login using the provisional registration number and password. It is mandatory to fill in the remaining details in the application form of NEET 2026 The other details to be filled in the NEET online application form 2026 are:

Section 1

Personal details: Some details from registration are auto displayed and these cannot be changed. However, many other details are to be filled in the NEET application form as follows

• Candidate’s name: Auto-generated from registration
• Mother’s and Father’s name: Auto-generated from registration
• Gender: Auto-generated from registration and cannot be changed during the application correction
• Category: Auto-generated from registration and cannot be changed during the correction
• Date of Birth: Auto-generated from registration
• Nationality: Auto-generated from registration and cannot be changed during the correction
• Persons with disability: Auto-generated from registration and cannot be changed during the correction
• Do you belong to the Minority Category?
• Are you suffering from Diabetes Type I?
• Identification Type
• Identification Number
• Aspirants need to enter their Aadhaar details while filling out the NEET form.

Section 2

Apply for: In this section, the entrance exam - "NEET" - is filled in by default. Candidates have to provide the following details:

• Medium of NEET question paper: The NEET exam paper is conducted in 13 languages namely, English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

• Selection of NEET 2026 exam city: Candidates have to choose three preferences of exam cities where the test is conducted.

Section 3

Academic details (Class 12 or equivalent): Enter the following 10+2 qualifying details:

• Pass status
• Year of passing/appearing
• Qualifying exam code - To know about the NEET qualification code
• Place of schooling
• Type of school/college
• Qualifying examination state
• Qualifying examination district
• School board
• Result mode
• Roll number
• School/college name and address
• School/college pin code
• Enter the security pin

Step 3: Uploading of scanned documents and images for NEET 2026 registration form

After filling in the details in the NEET form 2026, candidates have to upload scanned copies of the photograph and signature as specified. Candidates need to click on 'upload documents'. The documents to be uploaded are detailed below.

• Passport photograph: It must be passport-size with a white background having the name of the candidate and the date of the photograph underneath the image. The size of the file can be 10 kb to 200 kb in JPEG format.

• Signature: This must be done with a black ink pen on white paper and should be scanned to a file with size 4 kb to 30 kb in JPG format.

• Left-hand thumb impression: Candidates must upload a digital image of the left-hand thumb impression on white paper with blue ink in JPG format and the size should be between 10 kb to 200 kb.

• Postcard size photo: Apart from the passport size photo, candidates are required to upload postcard-size photographs in JPG format with size between 10 kb to 200 kb.

NEET 2026 application form - Specification of scanned documents

To complete the application form, aspirants have to upload certain documents required for NEET 2026. The following documents need to be submitted in the format as prescribed in the below table. For a detailed understanding, candidates can check the article on NEET 2026 photo and document format.

Step 4: NEET UG form fee payment

After the uploading of documents as per the specifications, the option to pay the NEET application fee 2026 appears on the screen. Click on 'pay examination fee'. The total fees of NEET 2026 can be paid in online mode only. NEET 2026 application fees vary for general, OBC/ST/SC, and EWS categories.

Online payment mode: Candidates can pay the NEET 2026 application fee through Debit/Credit/Net banking or Unified Payment Interface (UPI) using State Bank of India/Syndicate Bank/ICICI Bank/HDFC Bank/Paytm service provider. Candidates must ensure that the Credit/Debit card used for payment is within the validity period. For net banking, it is advisable to check the balance of the account and keep all the credentials ready before logging on to submit the application form.

Note: Keep the proof of payment in the form of transaction ID/ receipt in case of online payment safe till admission is complete.

NTA NEET 2026 application fees

Processing charges & Goods and Services Tax (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.

Step 5: Printing the NEET acknowledgement receipt

• Once the application fee is paid, a NEET confirmation page pdf or acknowledgement receipt will be generated. This means that the application for NEET 2026 has been successfully submitted.

• A copy of the NEET acknowledgement or confirmation page is also sent to the registered email as well as the mobile number of the candidates.

• Candidates are advised to save this acknowledgement receipt for future reference. They are also advised to take a printout of the same for reference.

NEET application form - Image correction

NTA informs all registered students about the image discrepancy, which must be corrected before the NEET 2026 application form's last date. Any modifications or corrections to the photograph/signature could be done using the login facility given by NTA or even with the correction window. Candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps to correct any discrepancies in their photograph or signature uploaded with the NEET application form 2026.

Steps to correct image discrepancies in NEET UG application form 2026

• Click on the 'NEET candidate login' link (was provided here)
• Enter the NEET application number and password
• The option to upload the photograph/signature will be displayed on the screen
• Upload the correct images as per the given specifications
• Verify once before submitting it
• After submission, an OTP number will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number of the candidates
• After the given OTP number is entered, the NEET correction slip will be displayed on the screen
• It is advised to safely keep this printout for future reference

NEET form 2026 correction window

The NEET UG correction window allows candidates to make corrections in the application form. Candidates can make changes or modifications such as personal, educational details, exam centres and others in their neet.nta.nic.in 2026 application form during the correction window. It must be noted that the edit window for NEET 2026 will only be available for the registered aspirants for a specific period of time.
