To generate the identification number in NEET form download, candidates are required to register for the NEET 2026 exam. After a candidates successfully completes the NEET registration process on the NEET official website, the system automatically generates a NEET application number. This is the unique identification number of 12 digits which is displayed on the confirmation page and is also sent to the candidate’s registered email ID. Candidates can check the below mentioned steps for NEET application identification number generation.
Visit the official website of NEET: neet.nta.nic.in.
Click on ‘NEET (UG)- 2026 Registration and Online Application Form’ link and then click on ‘New Registration’.

Read the instructions carefully, tick on the box provided and then click on the ‘Click here to Proceed’ tab.
In the next page, fill personal details, present address, mobile number, email ID and permanent address.
Choose a relevant password and enter the provided Captcha code and click on ‘Submit’
An OTP is sent to the registered mobile number and email ID.
Enter the OTP for verification.
A provisional application number serving as identification number is generated.

Then click on ‘NEET (UG)- 2026 Registration and Online Application Form’.
Click on ‘Login’ and then click on ‘Forgot Application Number’.
Enter candidate’s name, Father’s name, Mother’s name, Date of Birth and Captcha code.
Then click on ‘Get Application Number’.
Indentation application number is sent to the registered email ID and phone number.
