MBBS Seats in Maharashtra 2019: Securing admission to one of the eminent medical colleges in the state of Maharashtra require a lot of effort and hard work. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), conducted by National Testing Agency, will be held on May 5. The Medical / Dental seats at Deemed universities of Maharashtra will be filled by Directorate General of Health Services, New Delhi (DGHS) on the basis of All India NEET Rank. The Commissionerate, Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai will be administering the Maharashtra MBBS 2019 admission process. After qualifying NEET 2019, the candidates apart from participating in counselling for 15% All India Quota, will be heading to participate in the counselling sessions in their respective state of residence. Like every state in the country, MBBS seats in Maharashtra will be filled under the 85% State quota. Seats for the nominee of government : A specified number of seats i.e. at the Government Medical Colleges (15 seats), Dental Colleges (3 seats) and Ayurved Colleges (5 seats) in the MBBS seat distribution in maharashtra have been kept at the disposal of the Government of India. Seats for nominees of Government of India will be filled up by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
All India Quota: 15% of the seats of MBBS & BDS courses at Government & Corporation Medical and Dental Colleges will be filled through all India NEET UG 2019. The seats surrendered from all India quota to state quota will be filled by the Commissioner, State CET CELL. The eligibility and constitution Reservation / PWD Reservation of State quota seats will be applicable to all seats surrendered from All india Quota.
As per the Maharashtra MBBS 2019 seat reservation policy, 85% State Quota seats are divided between 30% State and 70% Regional Quota seats. 30% of such seats will be made available for candidates from the State (State 30% quota) and these seats will be filled on the basis of State Merit List. Out of the seats at the disposal of the authority, 5% of the seats will be reserved for Person with disability candidates and 30% will be reserved for female candidates.
A specified number of seats i.e. 5% of the intake capacity, will be reserved for children of Defence Service Personnel and Ex-Defence personnel.
Total MBBS seats in Maharashtra 2019 has been divided in three regions - Vidarbha, Marathwada and Rest Of Maharashtra (RoM). Out of the 85% State quota seats, 70% of the seats in colleges in each region are reserved for candidates of that particular region. The remaining 30% seats are for candidates belonging to any region of the state. Depending on the region from where the candidates have completed their Classes 10 and 12 from, they will become eligible for 70% Regional Quota seats in the colleges located in that particular region and 30% seats in all other colleges of the state. All the colleges of the states will, therefore, have 70% seats reserved for Regional candidates and 30% seats reserved for candidates not from a particular region. The constitutional quota of Maharashtra state will include categories like Vimukta Jati/Denotified Tribes (VJ/DT) - A, Nomadic Tribes (NT) - B, Nomadic Tribes (NT) - C, Nomadic Tribes (NT) - D, Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST). The candidate will be required to claim the constitutional reservation in the
original application form. The candidate claiming constitutional reservation need to submit original caste certificate at the time of counseling for document verification, failing which the candidate will not be granted the category claim.
