BSc Optometry eligibility criteria
Candidates wishing to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Optometry course must check the BSC Optometry eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for BSc Optometry admission is mentioned below.
Educational qualification:
Candidates should have passed class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
The candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects. Some universities also accept Mathematics as an alternative subject to Biology.
A minimum aggregate score of 45% to 50% (depending on the institution) is required in the qualifying examination.
Age limit:
The minimum Optometry admission requirement of age requirement is 17 years at the time of admission.
There is no upper age limit for admission to most institutions.

Some institutions provide the BSc Optometry admission through lateral entry. Candidates seeking lateral entry into the BSc Optometry program can apply for direct admission into the second year of the course, provided they meet specific eligibility requirements.
