The Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET) is conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, to recruit Nursing Officers across various AIIMS/ NITRD/ AIIPMR, Mumbai/ CNCI Kolkata. Candidates who appear in the AIIMS NORCET must be aware of the negative marking as wrong answers lead to a reduction in the total score. There is a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer in the AIIMS NORCET exam. One mark is given for every correct answer.

The negative marking in NORCET 2026 specifies that one-third,1/3 of a mark is deducted for every incorrect answer in both Prelims and Mains NORCET exam. For every correct response, 1 mark is given. This encourages candidates to prepare well and be accurate while answering questions, as negative marking penalises and avoids securing a good rank in the NORCET exam.

The AIIMS NORCET is conducted in two stages. The Prelims exam consists of 100 MCQs. While NORCET Mains carry a total of 160 MCQs. Count the number of correct answers and multiply by 1
Count the number of incorrect answers and multiply by 1/3 (0.33).
Calculate the total score with the formula given below
NORCET Score = (Correct answers X 1) – (Incorrect answers X 1/3)
